Economical, reliable workhorse!
Better than I expected for an off brand robot vacuum. I looked at name brand vacuums and previously owned two shark robot vacuums which both units failed around 30 days. This KOIOS unit does a good job overall and hasn't shown any signs of mechanical trouble. It has some challenge being able to climb on thicker area rugs but after the side rotating brushes wear in a bit, it is doing better. I think this is a design flaw, but it's the basic street sweeper kind of brushes that actually do a good job. It can't get exactly on the edges, but it gets to about 1/2". My home has a ton of dog hair, so I always have edge cleaning that has to happen. I just use the broom to sweep it away from the edges and the vacuum picks it up. This thing still saves me time, and I don't worry about it quitting on me right after the amazon return period and being stuck with a $300 paperweight. It does it's best cleaning on hard floors, but it will pick up on carpet, however it's just picking up surface dirt. I think you will get better suction power from a more expensive robot, but you will also have more product failures in the pricier units (based on the reviews and my own experience with the two shark vacuum mechanical failures.) I looked at reviews from about 20 different brands and decided on this unit because I couldn't find any negative reviews, and the others had negative reviews mostly for mechanical problems (quit working, wheel stuck and spins in circles, etc.) It came with such an awesome brush cleaning tool. You have to keep the brush roll clean by removing the hair on the edges and hair that gets wrapped around it. You would have to do this after at least every other time you use it if you have pets and people with long hair. The brush cleaning tool is so easy to perform this necessary task (that you'd need to do for any robot vacuum.) I love this robot, and I like best that I can steer it with the included remote control if I want. You can't use your cellphone to operate it, but that is something I wasn't interested in. At the end of the day, I just needed a dependable workhorse. This unit does the job. I can vacuum my entire downstairs on a single charge, so it has very good battery run time also. I have my proof now that "big" brands aren't always better. What good are bells and whistles if the robot has mechanical failures and won't move or a wheel locks up? I don't foresee this happening with the KOIOS vacuum.

Shame to have to give this product/Company any stars
This purchaser would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing this unit, or anything from Koios to reconsider and spend your money elsewhere. The unit itself is cheap and poorly made. The vacuum immediately started banging into my baseboards and furniture putting marks on the wood. (I repainted the baseboards and added padding to the Koios) If you're looking for quiet, this is not the unit for you either. It's loud, easily heard from upstairs with the door closed and the vacuum never found it's way back to the charging station so you get the added bonus of an obnoxious beep until the battery fades. Suction was OK and serviceable (picked up some dust, not larger items) while the unit worked which was about 4 months.Flimsy product breaks, film at 11. The battery stopped taking a charge after no more than 20 uses. I tried rebooting, uninstalling the battery, cleaning the leads, nothing worked. So now Koios support...I sent 2 emails with no response and finally got someone on a website chat. They asked for a video of the problem and when I laughed and said I didn't have time to shoot a video and upload it for them, they reluctantly agreed to replace the unit in 4-6 business days. 2 days later I got this response" I'm very sorry as upon processing it shows on our system that we can no longer send replacement for this unit. I'm very sorry. We apologize for the inconvenience as we don't available stock to replace it."Interesting because Koios still sells this product through Amazon, but they won't honor a replacement unit covered under their year warranty? Instead I was given the opportunity to pack the unit up, pay for shipping and hope for a refund. No thanks. I'm done.Again, my advice, save your money and do business with a reputable firm.

Works well with (lots of) pet fur - dog and long haired cat!
Long lasting battery and overall good cleaning results. The sensor is sensitive enough to turn around before it hits our animals. The noise is acceptable, but I wouldn't call it quiet if you are in the room that is being cleaned. Sometimes the robot gets confused with obstacles and needs a few attempts before getting out. The only negative for me is that our couches match the robots height, so that is can get under but tends to get stuck eventually on the border and needs to be liberated by hand. I still haven't found an efficient solution to make it clean that area by itself.
