Excellent planter. Easy to put together, feels solid & looks great. I went for the lighter wood option.

I bought 6 of these to create an L shaped screen for my patio. 15-20 minutes only to build each, well made, all the fittings and screws put together perfectly with no force, really good.Cant wait to get some bedding plants in and some lights on next!

Well packaged and everything labeled well. Each peice of wood is numbered and the screws come in their own bags with letters to identify. It's really well made for what it is and it fits together easily. Instructions easy to follow. You need a cross head screw driver though. I liked the fact the base of the planter wasn't part of the screwed in part bcs it means I can remove it and put plant pots in it that stand on the floor. If you want a base to fill with compost then the bottom plate sits happily with a couple of holes for drainage. The wood is very light, it says it's fir I think. I'm not sure how long fir lasts but it would be worth treating it regularly to prevent it rotting. It is already treated but particularly on the top where the screws are flat to the top and will absorb rain, it would be worth treating. The bottom part has predrilled holes with metal bits to take the bolts. The top half is put together with screws. I checked with the seller to see if I had recieved one not predrilled in error but they said the screws (? Self tapping) can go straight into the wood, which they did, without any splitting. The wood is so soft it was easy to do. I'm really happy with it. Whoever is making them in? China has thought about it and is keen on quality. It's a nice height too when considering other sellers and price. The only thing I could add is that bcs is quite tall and the planter isn't enormous, I'm not sure, if it was self-standing away from a wall, it might be worth putting extra weight eg brick, in the base to prevent it blowing over if it was top heavy with planters etc. , just a thought, not experienced that as only just built it. Very pleased with it!

Why did you choose this product over others?:I was looking for a nice box planter and trellis and having read the reviews about this one it seemed like a good choice.Size:The other factor I liked about this planter is the height, as I wanted to a screen off the Air Source Heat Pump located on the patio.Value for money:This product is reasonably priced, the wood and metal fixtures are of a good quality. The assembly manual is well written and easy to follow. However, take time to work out that you have all the parts facing the correct way around. I inadvertently placed one of the trellis panels the wrong way around with the staples facing forward. But once the climbers have grown up the trellis I doubt one could see the staples.Looks good:I purchased four of these units and they look very good, especially since the plants have grown to like their new home.Sturdiness:The only negative is that if you aren’t placing the planter against a wall, then the unit can get blown over in a strong wind. I’ve added a couple of small wooden planter boxes at the base and screwed the boxes to the main box planter. A bit like stabiliser on a bike, for extra stability.

Arrives flat packed but extremely easy to put together with clear assembley instructions. The item is good quality ad looks great.
