Sirloin steak dry dog food by Chef Michael, Purina
It was a hit. Purina has been manufacturing dog food for ages, and I have never had an issue with any of their products. I wish it didn’t have food dyes in it but my furry girl gobbled this up like no body's business, so I would say its a hit!

I know it has some questionable ingredients, but this is the only thing that fixed my dog's rash.
My 4yo Dalmatian mix was suffering with an awful red scaly rash on his belly, and after trying many, many other foods, topical creams and lifestyle changes with no success, I tried this food in a "what the heck, it can't hurt" mood. Within a few days his rash was nearly gone, with no new spots. I thought it was a coincidence, since it's clear from the ingredients that this is really just the standard mega-factory meat-byproduct diet in fancy packaging. Then we tried his other food again because I had the flu and just could not get to the store that sells Chef Michael's, and within 24 hours he had new red raw spots. So, back to Chef Michael's for us! I know the dog food review sites trash this stuff, but I'm not quite sure what's so terrible about meat byproducts and soybeans anyway (my dog would eat out of the cat's litter box if I let him), and it's working for my dog. Plus, he LOVES it, can't get enough.*Update, Feb 2011* I noticed that my dog seemed hungry all the time on this food. I think the high percentage of soy protein, while not a negative necessarily, is just not ideal for dogs and doesn't fill them up like meat. So I fed him a bit more than I had of the other foods, and he ended up packing on some pounds. I know, dogs beg and act hungry all the time, but he really, truly was hungry! So I'm now trying foods with a higher meat content, but considering coming back to Chef Michael's and supplementing with some ground beef or turkey or eggs cooked at home. I still think this food is a good option and a good value, and would recommend it.

Best Dry Food
Let's get gross, we know why we're here. Till's potty time is much drier and firmer with this food than with any other food I've tried in the last three years, including allergy free foods and more expensive foods. The beef flavour makes him stink and shed more, so we stick to the chicken. However, feeding your dog BARF and Raw diets is the best, and easiest thing to do for their health, look into it. It might seem more expensive, but in the long run it's cheaper than the vet bills dry dog food will accrue. His teeth are white from being cleaned by the bones, his potty time is once a day at the most and dry, not mushy, barely stinks. He he has no dandruff and no bad breath on a raw diet. Chef Michael's is the only dry dog food I'll use, when I have to.

My Chihuahuas LOVE this
What a treat for my little guys. They get excited every time I bring them a dish of Chef Michaels. The love the dry meaty bits. They eat the meat with great enthusiasm, and leave the vegetables which they then finish up later. They have been eating premium, ulta-premium dog food for years. This costs a bit less, and as I have amazon Prime, it is delivered to my door without cost.Small dogs ought to have their teeth brushed every day. Neither my dogs nor I can get with the program. I did find a product at CVS called Dr. George's Plaque Blast for only $10, and it really seems to work. It's much less "the fight is on" than tooth brushing. : )

Dog enjoyed it, but not the healthiest
My dog definitely enjoyed eating the food. He's a mut (boxer and a few other things) and will pretty much eat anything. I did some research on foods and found that the ingredients weren't the best for actual nutrients the dog needs. Normally I'm not too concerned with that sort of thing, but when I found out I could get a much better product for my dog for $10-$15 more I decided to switch. No complaints on this product as it never upset my dog's stomach and he is overall healthy and happy, just a personal decision to give me dog something better.

DOGS RATE THIS A 10....
I use this food as a filler for their usual dog food. I feed all my dogs (3 of them) IAMS proactive mini chunks food and when I fill their food container (that holds 50 pounds of food) - THE AMAZING VITTLE VAULTS that are also available on Amazon, I put a little bit of Chef Michaels Oven Roasted Chicken food in between as I have someone else pour the large IAMS bag in. The dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE this addition and eat ALL the food right up! My new baby Texas Heeler puppy waits for the Chef Michaels to be served to him in the purple cup that he sees going into the Chef Michaels bag... He loves this stuff as do the Purebred Lab and the 1/2 Irish Wolfhound mix we also have!If it werent so darn expensive I would feed them the food alone, but with three dogs who are already getting a premium dog food like IAMS, who could afford this food for all three at 13.00 or so a bag?Lower your price Chef Michaels and more people would purchase....

Gourmet Dog Meals for my Spoiled Dog! The Best! - Filet Mignon and Chicken
RE: Gourmet Dog Meals for my Spoiled Dog! The Best! - Both Filet Mignon and ChickenDo NOT let the 11.5 lb weight of this Great Michael Chef's Dog Meal fool you. This is a GIGANTIC Bag compared to similar 10 to 12 pound bags. This bag is big as a 25 to 30 LB bag that you would normally associate with dog foods.I had thought the 11.5lb size would resemble and be similar to a Rice sized 12 lb bag, however measuring it comes to 17" x 24" !That's basically the same size as my 30 lb bag of premium dog food from PelicanBay.The meat chunks are fluffier (and apparently lighter in weight) and looks meatier and real to my dog [ even to me :) ]You cannot beat the price and it's even cheaper with a monthly subscription obviously.Hey, thanks Amazon, and it came in two days with my Amazon Prime in an even bigger box! (Damn, I sound like an Amazon worker or something)It's just a great and fast service for large purchases like these and more the reason why I made a good choice using this service.
