Katadyn Gravidyn Replacement Element As is typical for Katadyn products, the charcoal-based Ceramic Gravidyn Replacement Element provides delightful drinking water while filtering out harmful bacteria and viruses. With three necessary to a useful size gravity based filtration system, these work-horses are expensive, and they do not come with the requisite hard rubber hand screws intended to hold them upright in the filter basin. So don't make the mistake of throwing your old screw heads out. If you are not filtering for lead or fluoride, you can't beat three of these for delicious and germ-free water.

I've been using the Gravidyn system for several years, and it is my favorite. It is simple and effective. It is my go-to source for drinking and cooking water in our kitchen.

Katadyn products are the standard for all others to aspire, these replacement cones were as advertised and as a long term user I expected nothing less. Only negative is the price..

I've used these filters for years now filtering river water for drinking while camping. It's amazing the see the difference between the dirty was poured in and the pure clean water after going through the filters. The carbon core on these is also great to take care of any taste issues. Wonderful product for camping and survival.

It is not clear in the description that this is just the filter with a stem and there is NO wing nut. If you have lost that or inherited a filter holder, you also need to buy a replacement kit for the wing nuts. Disappointing and another $23 because these are already expensive. Especially annoying since we live overseas and can't get in country.

I've been using the Gravidyn system for many years and it works great, when it works. The problem is that the stem on the filter is made of soft, weak, foam plastic which has practically no tensile strength and breaks off easily. The problem seems to have gotten worse with time. In the last three months three of the filters have had the stems just pop off while sitting in the filter unit, not being touched at all. I keep putting on the new filters looser and looser -- the point where they may not even be sealing properly -- and still the stem keeps popping off the filter a month or two after it was installed. These filters are very expensive and to have to replace them every month because they spontaneously break is unacceptable.

If you saw the interior of the upper water chamber on this filter after six month's time, you would not regret money spent on the filter or replacements. There is a lot of rust and stuff from the old pipes in my building. The water certainly tastes better when it's filtered. I use this in an apartment, not in an extreme situation. Your mileage may differ.This is a lot cheaper than buying 'bottled water' and much better for the environment, as well as for you.

We have been using this filter system for our Minnesota cabin for about 17 years. I switched to the Berkey about 3 years ago but it was difficult. The cartridges needed to be primed. That was almost impossible to do indoors. One filter broke after only a few uses. So we switched back to the Katadyn which is much easier to use. There is no priming. They have never broken and the filtered water is absolutely great. We will now stay with this system!

Muy descontenta, solo viene un filtro a ese precio (55€) cuando pone que la unidad sale a 27 ????Después en el drip que compre de la marca venían filtros carbodyn y se recomendaban como mejor opción estos los gravidyn y ahora en las características de este son distintas a las que decían en el otro, me siento engañada y nose ahora que nivel de filtrado tiene. No lo recomiendo para nada.

This product was promptly delivered and has now been installed. We've been successfully filtering rain water which tastes fine so everything seems to be working very well!

Big caution!! this manufacturer has had a quality issue for sometime now. These filters break at the nozzle, very easily as you put them in and out to clean. They break then your water below is contaminated. I have emailed the manufacturer 12 times and they refuse to respond. Be careful, if you tighten normal they can break. Check after each replacement to ensure your water is not contaminated!!
