Camping Titan Cot XP

This is a very nice heavy duty cot. Materials appear to be of high quality and look like they will take a beating. The XL size is larger and heavier than most standard cots so be aware of dimensions if size or weight are an issue for you. The braces in the middle supported my weight (200lbs) when sitting on the edge, but the cot is fairly tall so your feet will stretch to tippy toes to reach the ground bellow. It comes in a carry bag, the carry bag is not the same high quality as the cot material but is adequate.I set it up when it arrived without looking at the instructions and it was intuitive and easy to assemble, although it did take some force to get the end crossbars in place (probably because it is new and the material was not yet stretched). I purchased a "TETON Sports ComfortLite Self Inflating Camp Pad" with it and slept on it that night. The comfort level was fine, I didn't feel stiff or soar the next morning and I don't think sleeping on this for several nights in a row would not be a problem at all. Breakdown and re-packing were easy.What would make it better (this is a great cot, I'm just nitpicking):~ The height of the cot could be a little lower, maybe 2-3 inches~ The bag it comes in should be equal in quality to the cot materialOverall very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this cot to others.

I was weary about buying a cot because of my size (6ft and 310lbs) but decided to give this one a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to lay in it and not feel like it was creaking or gonna tear at any shift of my weight in the middle of the night since I toss and turn a lot. It feels really sturdy. I do wish the legs would lock out a little better though. It's easy to set up (minus a slightly tough to pop in upper end bar), and can be done alone if needed. There's storage bags on the side off the ground which is nice if you wear glasses like me and want them close by. They sit fairly high off the ground (maybe 1ft) which is nice if you have stuff you want to store under or in my case place wood under you to feed the fire throughout the night. They're slightly heavy but worth it for the strength of the design.

MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: My 53-year-old wife used this cot with a twin sized air mattress when we went tent camping. She slept so comfortably, she has said she wants to go camping more often. The end legs that fold outward make it an extremely stable design. A secondary benefit to sleeping comfort is all the storage room under the cot for clothes and equipment. As soon as they go back on sale for $89.00 I'm going to get another one for myself.UPDATE: I have to lower my original 5 star rating to 4 on this cot due to quality control issues. I did indeed purchase another cot when they went on sale in the fall. We intended to use both cots as guest beds over the holidays. Thankfully, my order was far in advance of the holidays. The cot arrived, and luckily I set it up right away (which as some people have mentioned is not a simple thing to do) to check it out. I found a hole in the material in the top of the cot. The hole was about a centimeter long, and looked like a clean cut. I returned the cot to Amazon and requested a replacement. I received the second cot and set it up. Sure enough, another hole in the fabric. The hole was the same size and shape, but in a different location so I knew it wasn't the same cot. I returned it and requested another replacement. The third cot arrived, and I couldn't believe it; another hole. I returned it and requested another cot. The fourth cot arrived, and had no holes in it. It served well as a guest bed over the holidays, and I'm looking forward to using it for camping this summer. So I think Browning has some quality control issues that need to be addressed in their manufacturing of this item, and I recommend that anyone who purchases this cot makes sure to set it up promptly and inspect it for flaws.I must say that throughout this ordeal I was extremely impressed with Amazon's customer service. I had never before needed to return anything I'd purchased from Amazon and I was impressed with how simple they have made the return process. I merely needed to print out a return label, tape it to the box and request a replacement for the defective item. (It was a slight bother taking each return to the UPS store, but I really didn't even need to do that, since Amazon gives you the option of having the item picked up from your address.) Amazon sent out each replacement promptly as soon as I requested it, and did not question the fact that I sent back three defective units.

I have had two other cots for camping. This one was the most expensive.....and by far the best. Sets up easily, and has a lot of support for uneven ground. Of course it is tight getting the last of the end pieces in, but it is not impossible, and that is necessary for cots. Don't be deterred by that.I purchased the large and medium size. Both came with a nice bag. One thing I REALLY appreciated about the bag was that it wasn't cheap and small. Many camping supplies have bags that fit the item just fine when it is packed at the factory, but you struggle with it when you re-pack it. Not so with this cot. Plenty of room in the bag, so take down was easy.Glad we got them. Three good nights of sleep for my wife and I, and we are in our mid to late 60s.

This cot is big, durable, but comfy, I say not. This cot is rated to hold 450+ lbs. I am 340lbs and the middle cross supports press into my hips. What I mean is, the canvas gives too much and ends up resting against the middle support cross bars. I am dissapointed in that I thought I had found a cot for big men such as myself. If you weigh less than me by say 50lbs. this cot may be just for you. Would return but destroyed the box to get the thing out. Oh well live and learn my Grandfather used to say.

I give this a 2 because it's hard to set up. I cant get it set up without my husbands help. Also we brought these to my parents for Christmas and it punched holes in their flooring- I felt horrible! Works ok on carpet but will damage other flooring types

Its very wide and strong without being heavy. The cot folds back into the bag with little effort. It is the most comfortable cot I have ever slept on!!

Hi there: We have only used this cot once so far and it was fantastic. The only complaint I have is the size might be a little too wide as I have a bad knee and it is hard to slide all the way to the edge. Maybe the smaller one would have been preferable. Other than that these are fantastic cots, super sturdy, and easy to put together. It helps to watch the video first on www.browningcamping.com. Will definitely purchase more Browning products. this is the best cot i have ever owned. it is very big and comfortable. many pockets for storage and has a spot to turn anything into a pillow

Sure saved my back, I have several herniated vertebrae and couldn’t have camped without it
