Verified Accurate Results
We have a fairly large (40,000 gallon) in ground and unheated pool, and we've been using the Water Guru for a couple of months now. Not knowing what to expect, we frequently compared the results to test strips with good results. After a couple of months and on a day when the Water Guru said all chemicals were within the normal range, I took a water sample to our local pool company to be analyzed on their machine (which we previously did very frequently). Results were the same, down to a tenth of a ppm for everything. We had a feeling the Water Guru was fairly accurate because the pool looks fantastic, but it was nice to have confirmation from the folks who do this for a living and have the best measuring equipment. It works for us and I would recommend it.

Cartridges don't last
This item does not last as it says. The 30-day count for the cartridges is not at all what it gets. First cartridge that shipped with unit, lasted 24 days. I purchased the 3 pack of cartridges and installed one this morning and reset the counter. I then did a reading and the display said 100 percent, then after a reading says 28 days left. The concept of the item is great It does measure the water pretty accurately. For the cost of the unit and the cartridges, it is way over priced

Vital pool instrumentation - I can't imagine not having all this data anymore
I had been one of the earliest pHin users, until Hayward acquired it and then eventually shut it down. I can understand why, since I had received in total 5 warranty replacement units. Then, I decided to go without a monitoring device for one season, which worked fine, until it didn't this year, when I went on a two week international trip and then I returned to a full algae bloom. My gamble that I would be back in time did not pay off, so I got the WaterGuru2 to stop flying blind and Wow! it's so great to have this level of fine grained data. I had been toying with Pentair pH & CL test kits and then the Taylor test kit too, but now I always exactly where my measurements are at. Now I've got a much better handle on all the major variables in my pool, which actually took a while to fully understand since I didn't know any of this before. As you can see from my screen shots, my pH is currently a bit low, but I'm told that's reasonable since I use the Tri-Chlor slow dissolving tablets, but my CYA (CYanuric Acid) is through the roof too high. We figured out today that this is because I had been using 99% DiChlor to shock my pool, which spas like to use, but it's not appropriate for my pool, so I need to switch to 68% Calcium Hypo. I'm also going to see if a new CYA remover does what it says it can do, to get my CYA down to normal levels. I'm also going to add in Green to Clean since my high CYA is preventing the full killing of some nagging algae that still remains and likes to come back. The WaterGuru support team, both Tier 1 and Tier 2 have been a true pleasure to work with. With your purchase of the WaterGuru2, you get two types of Sense2 cartridges, 1 C5, which monitors pH, FC plus CYA, Hardness and total Alkalinity and lasts 30 days, and 2 C2's, which measures just pH and FC daily and these each last for 60 days. Once you get into a steady state C2's are enough.By the way, if you're recovering from something as bad as an algae bloom, please refrain from excessively invoking "Measure" on the WaterGuru2 app, since this will shorten the life of the cassette dramatically, since the measuring film scrolls through the cartridge and it will run out faster. By default the WaterGuru2 measures the water once a day and that's actually good enough for residential owners.Anyone who loves data and is tired of "winging it", or "excessively shocking your pool", or "just paying too much monthly to your pool person" should get a WaterGuru 2.

Works great but really poor battery life
Pros: Testing seems to be pretty accurate. App is free and makes it convenient to monitor the pool conditions. The app gives suggestions and tips on improving various levels.Cons: Testing is done through cartridges. If you only test the water once per day, each cartridge will last about a month. A 5-pack of cartridges is $150... which is a little spendy. My biggest complaint is the battery life. The unit takes 4 C-cell batteries that only last about 2 weeks (based on Arizona heat in July-Aug). I would think a solar powered unit would be a better eco-friendly option.

They don’t work!!!
I own three of these things and they qualify as complete JUNK. I would give them away but I don’t want to burden anyone else with these light weight boat anchors. I’m know that I’m thick headed and you think I would have learned after the second one. When they work, they are very useful. The problem is they don’t work much beyond a year if that. Sorry but after almost $1500.00 of units and cassettes and no decent performance I just can’t give this technology more than a -0.

Product is generally good, developers behind app are amateurs.
Product is good and it performs the functions stated. The Application has... Issues. E-mails get sent out multiple times and support does not really have any clue regarding why. When reporting an e-mail issue you are told that it may take a day or two to be actioned on their systems. Customer service may or may not get back to you and there appears to be no handoff of support tickets within their organization. The organization is obviously small and has no exposure to ITIL or software development standards. They used an unsigned Integer for pool size, so even though they say they support commercial pools via upgrades they don't actually support anything over 65534 gallons. If you have fewer than 5 pools, don't bother purchasing the commercial license as they have no way for you to apply the license to your device. Wifi connectivity is iffy. Shows -79dBm signal when an android tablet connected to the same access point shows -45dBm when laid on top of the skimmer. Dropping the review another star after their developers prove unable to fix a simple email issue and disabled emails rather than spending the 15 minutes required to figure out how to send email properly.
