This is an effective tool that I find easier to use than my mini electrical trimmer. The photos show before and after photos of the part of the garden I bought this to use on. I managed to clear a stretch of wall over double the size of the field of view in less than an hour. A few months later and it still seems to be going strong - blade still cuts well, even through inch thick dock stems, and it isn't feeling loose in the handle yet. 4 stars rather than 5 because I'm not convinced the handle will last a long time, but hoping that will be easily fixable with a spot of epoxy when it starts to come loose.

The sickle actually works well but the craftsmanship of the handle is sub par, the screws are glued and the wood is little better than pine. Not sure how long it will last. Worth spending just another £10 and buy one at your local garden centre.

Nothing in the description about having to submit proof of age on delivery of this item..btw I'm 73 ..very flattering to think I'm underage !! Looks a good garden tool but not for me through Amazon

Good value

This short handled hoe turned out to be very handy for my very elderly self, to enable me to sit on a stool and get on with weeding. The design of this tool is unusual as it has a hole in the centre of the blade which is on the same principle of a cheese knife.. The soil does not stick to the blade. The actual appearance of the blade is not as pristine as pictured, rough welding etc., but this does not deter it’s efficiency. I recommend this tool.
