Very mixed
I love his portraits. Dana (the cover model), Marika, 'Harbinger,' and lots of others. Each displays not just technical mastery, but real affection for the lady sharing her appearance. Even better, he picks faces and figures from the different continents that gave rise to modern humankind, not just the "underfed anglo" so common in so many other collections.I regret that such loving, precise renderings form a minority of these works. Most have a sameness that makes me think of McKnights's factory-churned imagery, but with uniform apple cheeks that bring silicone to mind. Worse yet, they're not even finished. The blank monokini of "Just Add Water," the vacant sword and boots of "Ahoy There," the blatant incompletion of "Esmeralda" (to name only a few) - well, as a guy who put down money for this book, I think I deserve a few more finished pictures, or at least clear acknowledgment that this presents unfinished doodlings. The good here is very good, and celebrates real ladies with real curves. I just wish more of this work came near the standard set by the best of it.- wiredwierd

Art or photographic art?
I was expecting to see 100% photographic images of beautiful women. The truth is the word "Art" in the title should have been the clue that there would be drawings. If you like both kinds of pinups, this little book can add to your collection. You just won't find images like the cover on every page. I like Mr. Reed's art. I come back to leaf through the book from time to time because of curiosity. The cover alone though is worth the price of the book.

Art, not pinups.
Artwork from a talented artist. If you want hugely endowed fantasy pinups, don't buy this.

Absolutely fantastic and a must have!
This book is absolutely incredible. The portraits are so real that it is at times unbelievable that they aren't actually photographs. The other images are so colorful and beautifully drawn that at times they almost jump out of the page. This is a great coffee table book. The pages are thick and high quality and the cover is fantastic. This book is a treasure that I know that will be promiently and proudly displayed in my home.Edward Reed is one of the top artists in his field and this book proves it. His work is an inspiration to aspiring artists and an absolute must have for collectors. He has really outdone himself with this latest book.I highly recommend this book for people that love art and appreciate good art. You won't be disappointed!
