Amazing game, tiny audio bugs
I rarely buy games on pre-sale due to a lot of publishers will send out a partial game that still needs another 6 months of patches to fix bugs, so I like to wait till they get the bugs out and offer a discount to encourage the hold-outs to come back. After seeing several personal reviews of people with advance copies saying no issues, I decided to take the leap and get the premier edition cause I hate to wait and I like that it comes with the expansion included.I had no issues with the code nor install. I bought this a day before it became available for the premium edition, and I was able to pre-install, even though on the day of there was a 1.5GB update needed.Game itself is HUUUGE! I mean, I have no idea how to quantify how large this game is. I read an article that said there are 1000+planets, and with no max level, you need to reach lvl 330+ to get all perks. Besides the game universe being huge, each planet in and of itself is crazy huge. I mean, I land on a planet, and I'm thinking Rick & Morty, where I just go in one direction and sooner or later I come back around, but no....you just keep going and going till you run out of patience, jump back on your ship, and move to another location. My game time says I've been play for 1 day, 18 hours (some of that was me falling asleep and forgetting to turn the game off), and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface at my current lvl 20.There is just so much to do, and you can play the game any way you want. It reminds me in a way of a 1st person EVE game, where you can choose to be a miner, a pirate, an assassin, a cargo trucker, police, Outpost manager etc. There are just so many missions and "guilds" that you can join and get further ahead. So far, I am just sampling all the various missions, and I know the only one I hate is surveying a planet, where you walk around a planet scanning animals, plants, and resources - when you hit 97% and can't find that one animal you need to finish, you just want to flip a table.I recently discovered the ability to commandeer other ships. When you first start off you are making little money, and when you see ships costing 300k, you have to wonder how you will ever get there. Not only does money start to build up after awhile, but if you get mercenaries on your tale, at times after you see them land on a planet, you can take over their ship after you dispose of everyone. So far I've gotten two free ships out of this, so I am up to 4 ships in my fleet. There is just so much going on in the game, I feel like they made a game that you can't ever get 100% completion on, just because of the sheer size of it.In terms of my title, I did find a couple audio bugs, but no gameplay bugs. I think in one case, I had a robot companion and whatever happened, it started to screech. I saved my game, exited out, and jumped back in and it was gone. I had another situation where there was a bucket or something that I kicked and it started to clank repeatedly till I got out of audio range. Beyond that, no gameplay bugs or NPCs walking through walls. In terms of starting off, it will ask you to pick a role which basically is a way to say pick your first 3 perks at lvl 1. I chose cyber runner as I liked stealth and pickpocketing perks. But if your focus is base building, there is a job for that. I would worry to much about what you choose, as you can select a new perk or level each one as you level up. Perks remind me of Skyrim where you have to use the perk to grow it, but it is also tier. e.g. If I select pickpocket lvl 1, I have to pickpocket 5 times, and level to get a perk point to get to lvl 2 pickpocket, and so forth. With the game being new, it is still hard to find websites are blogs that have all the answers, but will say, "What I've found so far is..." For base building, I agree that you need a planet with a minimum of Helium (power source) and Aluminum (build material) with Iron (build material) being another good material to have on hand. I found Denebola II-A within the Denebola system to be a perfect candidate to get all three easily. Also when character creating, I recommend getting a couple traits - Hero Worshipped gives you an annoying friend which you can use as a free crew member, but acts very much like the jester from Skyrim. Not too annoying, and you are not on the ship long enough to make it feel unsufferable. I also picked the wanted trait which means mercs will chase after you. My first thought getting it was - loot that comes to me, but this has really been very lucrative. Ships I keep commandeering? Mercs who land to take me out. Usually there are about 4-5 and they are easy to take care of. So free loot, free ships, and easy XP.Beyond that, I can't think of anything more. I really enjoy the game, and I hope more people will play to build out the game walk throughs and best X (weapons, armors, planets, etc) sites. In terms of negatives, I have to go back to the world is humongous, so being able to remember where everything is at is a task in and of itself. In terms of your main faction, what planet are the based in? Don't remember, it was in the lower left quadrant somewhere. Where is the base to sell illegal items without police scanning your ship? I remember that, cause I go there every couple hours. What about that one place where it sells products to smugglers? I remember it is called Red something, but where? Don't recall. It needs something like OneNote to track where everything is. with 1000+ planets, how are you expected to remember where everything is? To me that is the biggest thing missing, an assistant or even an AI assistant to help you remember where everything is. Since AI is fairly new, I can't fault them for not including it, but it may be a good patch or a mod to help navigate this universe.

EASILY A 10 - CAN PLAY THIS GAME FOR MONTHS AND NOT GET BORED
This is easily a 10 of 10 game. I am expecting to still be playing months from now. There is so many places to visit on each planet. You don't know they are there until you start running around and they start showing up on your map. Some locations could take an hour to finish (assuming you scavenge for ammo and the various gear to sell). Bethesda really hit the mark on this one. All of the people giving low scores has nothing to do with the actual game and game-play. I read reddit posts before the game came out encouraging people to leave low scores and negative comments because the game is not available on Playstation. Microsoft bought the parent company (Zenimax) of Bethesda several years ago. Of course Microsoft is not going to share with Sony and Playstation. Sony doesn't share their games that their own studios make. Don't read the negative comments. Their complains are not valid. Also, some people were complaining about not getting the patch and various other content. They bought the wrong version. The patch and smartwatch only comes with the Constellation version which were sold out months before release. The Premium Upgrade version buys skins for certain weapons and the very first DLC when it comes out in early 2024. The did not read the description correctly. It certainly is not a "perfect" game. It does have its flaws including a current sound issue that affects Xbox players, but it will be the type of game you can play for 100s of hours. You can spend hours just walking around the entirety of one planet or moon. It's worth the money if you like RPG and Open World games.

Horrible game...WASTE OF TIME
I've been playing for a couple of weeks on xbox now and have nothing but problems. The game constantly crashes and even when you do local saves, when you restart, your local saves are gone. Even when toy re-synch with the cloud (it's cloud based saves) rhe l8cal saves do not transfer. I have contacted xbox and this is a known issue to them but rhet haven't fixed it. Today i was prompted to free up space and delete local saves, when I did that and restarted the game, I lost EVERYTHING....2 weeks of game play completely gone. It's a waste of $109 and I'm deleting it now. ...GOOD BYE STARFIELD!!!!

Can't Play on Windows 10
For some reason the download code thinks I want the game for Xbox. I do not own Xbox and never have. It seems I can get an emulator of Xbox on Windows 10, but that is not what I want. I want a native Windows 10 game. Not sure who to blame, Amazon or Microsoft. I'm leaning towards blaming Microsoft.FYI, I got it working on Windows 10. I will give my review of gameplay in a few weeks. I changed my rating to 3 pending my review.

Good game with latest Video drivers
Good news code worked with Xbox on Windows 11. Did not work with Intel Arc 750 card at 1st, they updated their driver then it would at least run and crash immediately. Put an old AMD card in just so I could play until Intel gets a good driver or the game is fixed? The AMD card crashes less, especially in you select the lowest Graphis setting in the game. You can't get a refund when you buy through Amazon. So you are stuck and can only hope the game or video drivers' updates will fix the problems and allow you to run at better graphics settings. The game is basically Fallout 4 in space with a much bigger scope.Update 9/9/23Update crashes every few sec no matter what video card or PC you use. Unplayable.Update 10/5/23With Intel latest driver can play using the AC750 video card on Ultra setting with no crashes! Game looks very good at these settings and frame rate is very good. It is still Fallout 4 in space. A 1000 planets to visit but very tedious to explore. Good story line in most quest. Game can be very frustrating, thankfully it mods easily.
