I purchased this for a project that required electronics. I have used several soldering irons over the past few years, and this was comparable to most of them at a much lower price. The soldering iron heats quickly and it has an adjustable dial for temperature. It is lightweight, a very simple design. This kit also comes with an incredibly amount of accessories that I probably will never use. There are multiple soldering tips, wire covers, red and black wires, pliers, solder, etc. just to name a few. The stand works well, the wet sponge is good for cleaning off excess solder, so far everything works. It isn't a fancy kit, but it works perfectly fine so far. Depending on the durability of the soldering iron, it will be a good kit that fulfills my needs.

For a basic solder kit, this thing has it all! So many accessories, but they all come in handy when the time comes. The iron itself works fantastic, heats very quickly. The solder works well, as does the flux. The carry/storage case is a little tight, but otherwise works very well. I do wish the stand was easier to assemble/disassemble to put back in the case for travel, but its a minor complaint. Overall, for the price you'd be hard pressed to beat it.

I bought this kit to have a travel soldering kit while away on disaster relief deployments for any projects that might come up. Build quality seems to be fair for the price. Lots of accessories included in the pouch, with enough room to add a few more things. It's not too heavy to just throw into your toolkit for the chance of needing it. I've only used it once so far to make sure that the iron heated up enough, and I was able to solder a PL-259 connector to the end of a coax cable ... 90% of what I'd need this for. I'm happy with the purchase.

This iron resists and does not burn its components easily like other cheaper ones I have bought. It comes with the grease and a metal stand that looks innovative but simple. I love the design, and it heats fast.

Great little kit. I really liked how compact it is. I use it as a travel kit and have found that it's very convenient packaging to keep in a drawer and at the ready. The components are light and functional, and fit well in the packaging.I was a little worried about the look and therefore I assumed low quality of the solder pump, but was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked!The iron has a temperature dial that worked well, it allowed me to do delicate work on a small switch and not worry about melting plastic.I'm very happy with this product.

Perfect for what I needed. Quality is acceptable for the price. Lots of useful items included in kit. Would be excellent for a first or second year electronics student.

I bought this on a whim when trying to repair a set of earbuds I absolutely love. I can't find this type anywhere anymore. I bought a different kind but they were making me mad, so I decided to see what was up with the old pair. I managed to get it open but the wires to the right ear were busted clean off. While trying to fiddle with them, one of the left ear wires broke off. Ugh!I was just going to try and tape them down, but that ended up being a foolish idea. So, I quickly researched a soldering iron and picked this one. I was extremely apprehensive at first, worried I would burn myself or something else. I have a heat mat I bought and that made things a bit safer. I also bought some soldering rosin, and used it, though I don't know if it ultimately did anything or not.The extra fine tip was great for the tiny job, and the tweezers were a very nice inclusion as well. It was still extremely hard to work on this tiny circuit board and the solder didn't work as I originally thought it would. Still, somehow, I managed to clean up and reattach the connections without burning myself, the earbuds, or anything around me, albeit with many, many starts, stops, and restarts.I do have to say, the holder kept falling over so I don't know if I was using it right or what. It seemed too light to support the weight, and the coils were too large to hold the iron properly.The solder vacuum also didn't seem to do anything. I'm not sure if it is because the amount of solder and the thing I was trying to clean up was so small though. In the end I didn't use either of these things, though they were part of what sold me on this set.The cord was very sturdy but a little too rigid and short, which caused the iron to move around when placed down. That was a little nerve-wracking as I didn't want it to fall off the table or the mat and burn something. However, a little extra time to make sure it was not going to move was fine.I really appreciated the general tools including in the set though. The sponge was very instrumental in cleaning the tip, the solder of course was a necessity, and the solder wick was so-so at helping out in removing the old solder. I'm a novice, so it might be user error as well.The gun itself is well made, and being able to change the temperature was nice. It cooled down extremely quickly, all told, and I was able to pack everything up but the sponge in a couple hours.Great little tool kit, especially for the price! I can't see myself using it that often, but given that it definitely won't break the bank and I have it for when I need it, and that it potentially will save me buying replacement electronics, it was a perfect purchase.
