A delight for the taste buds!
I'm not going to lie, I don't have much knowledge on protein bars. I've only tried one other protein bar, Animal Snak... so I can't give a real comparison to others. Despite that fact, I can still tell you how amazing I think these bars are, but first I'm gonna tell you what I thought of Animal Snak so I can tell you why I like Clif Builder's bars better.Animal Snak was my first and only other protein bar I've tried.Taste-wise... they are "okay". They didn't really have that candy bar taste that people desire. I can't really explain the taste, all I can say is that it was just okay. The problem is Animal Snak bars get tiring QUICK. I just couldn't stand eating them anymore. The only upside I could give them now is that they have 30g of protein (10g more than Clif's) and a lot of vitamins and nutrients.Texture-wise... extremely chewy, and that's all. Despite the words "Chocolate-Peanut Crunch" on the package... these bars have no crunch or crispness whatsoever. This too made eating them really dull after a while.I wanted something different, I wanted CRUNCH!!! So I tried out Clif Builder's bars. Oh my goodness these things were amazing. Not only did they have that crunch I desired and an amazing taste... but they have several different flavors so I wouldn't get bored eating the same thing over and over. I've tried the Peanut Butter and Vanilla Almond. They both are great, and vanilla is good for a change away from chocolate all the time. I'm soon getting the Chocolate Mint which I've heard good things about as well. Now the only BAD thing I could think of if I wanted to be picky... is that if I try to eat a bar too fast, the crispness would rough up the top of my mouth just a little. Though that's very minor and easy to avoid. So my pros and cons for Clif bars...PROS: They have that crunch/crispiness that most people want in a protein bar. Several different flavors so you won't get bored. They just plain taste AMAZING.CONS: If I have to be picky, the crispiness would rough up the top of my mouth if I ate the bar too fast. Easily avoidable if you slow down to enjoy the bar and drink a glass of water with it... which is recommended anyways.UPDATE, Dec 22: I've gone through about 1/2 a box of the Chocolate Mints. I was expecting a big minty flavor when I first tried... but was surprised that it was actually mild. At first I was a little let down cause it wasn't a strong as I thought it would be. After another bar or two I found out that I actually really enjoyed that the mint didn't overpower everything else. I definitely recommend this flavor. I will be trying the Cookies and Creme flavor next.

The King of Protein Bars
Lets get one thing straight. The flavor of this protein bar......CRUSHES majority of the natural whey protein tubs on the market. Honestly whey protein shakes taste so unbearable to me. People say it tastes like chocolate milk...And dear god that certainly wasn't the case. I still use them due to their cost and benefit, but I certainly don't enjoy them. And the ones that taste good? Filled with artificial ingredients. I expected protein bars to be a lot worse. Not only is this the greatest protein bar I have ever tasted. ITS INCREDIBLY NATURAL AND NON-GMO. Honestly this feels wrong, after a workout it feels like I'm eating dessert. The only problem with the bar is the just the shipping packaging. It kind of melts if you order this in the summer. But that's a small problem to overlook. This is a lot more expensive then whey powders.. but the taste will remind you why.. Absolutely 20G of protein heaven. I believe in eating healthy, but not making sacrifices on taste. This is one of those products and it will curb your desire for chocolate and dessert. Thank you for reading.

Best tasting bars. Period.
My previous favorite protein bar was the Met-Rx Big 100 Colossal Apple Pie, but both the chocolate and peanut butter flavors of the Clif Builder's bars have displaced the Met-Rx. Both the Met-Rx Apple Pie and Clif Builder's bars taste like candy bars (i.e., you WANT to eat them), but the Clif Builder's bars are easier/faster to eat and are a better protein per dollar value. As mentioned by other reviewers though, the Clif Builder's (and the Met-Rx Big 100's) are both packed with sugar (i.e., High GI/quick release/fattening/empty carbs). Basically this means these are nothing but glorified candy bars- glorified in the sense that they're packed with a good amount of protein, but not having much other nutritional value. Still, if you're like me, and on the go 12-14 hours a day, you'll probably find these kinds of bars a much better option than most realistic alternatives and an absolute necessity in helping to get through a busy day.For the record, I think the best protein per dollar bar I've had (where taste was a significant factor) are the Premier Protein bars. The Premier bars are about a dollar a piece (matching the Clif Builder's), but have 30g protein (matching the Met-Rx Apple Pie bars). I don't think the Premier bars are *quite* as good as the other two, but they're definitely up there.

I love these (mostly vegan) bars, but...
These bars are great! I love how they taste - especially the chocolate mint flavor! They are easy as pie to eat and contain a whopping 20 grams of protein!Plus, they are mostly vegan - that is there are no animal products in them except accidental contamination due to their manufacture in a factory that also makes stuff with animal products. This is fine for me; I'm not micro-vegan.However, these bars make me fart! Not only fart, but the farts are like dog farts! Not only are they like dog farts, they are like English pointer farts that kill off a room. And the dutch ovens they inspire - wowsers! So I'm giving them another go by buying at eating some "Bean-zyme" products (available at Amazon) with these bars.Otherwise, I have to time the consumption of these bars with period of times when I'm not in a group setting.Strange but true; I wish Clif bar would add Bean-zyme stuff into the bar.
