I purchased this so my toddler would match his dad and I in our Oktoberfest garb, and it served that purpose just fine. The leiderhosen and shirt are a thin polyester with velcro, but the socks are "real." Regardless of the fact that it is definitely a costume, it looks cute and held up well for several hours of running, frolicking, and general toddler chicanery and seemed comfortable. We had a hat and shoes to pair with it and got lots of compliments at the festival we attended. For size context, my son is a skinny 2T right now, and I'm optimistic he'll be able to wear it again next year.

This was, however, easily remedied by sewing down the straps--and he will also be able to wear it for next year's Oktoberfest.
