I needed a short USB cable with these ends to pass high-speed USB data between my dedicated telescope camera to the telescope's computer. Two things were important. First, I needed a short cable because the telescope mount tracks and I don't need excess cable getting snagged during my astrophotography session. Second, I needed a cable that would send high-speed data reliably. A cable I ordered from a different company didn't work as advertised. This one passes the data without issue.

Low quality cable
I tried to use these to control two cameras. While they initially detect, they drop off. Verified everything else was good but swapping to long cables I already owned and everything functioned perfectly. Put these back in, and disconnect problems persisted.
