Sturdy Copy Holder
This is a replacement for one I bought over 10 years ago. Perfect stand for my folders and books at work. So happy I was able to replace my broken stand.

Documents Holder
It's handy to be able to have your copy documents at eye level underneath your computer monitor. The 3M Copy Holder will keep your document securely in the optimum viewing position. Ideal for the office desk or on your PC workstation at home...happy viewing :).

Pricey, but Good Quality Copy Holder
Nice wide and deep copy holder. Equally suitable for holding full sized A4 books, sheet music, magazines etc. Would be suitable for holding recipe books, workshop manuals, building instructions, as well as typing copy, or just for hands-free reading at a desk or table. Easy to put together, and the hollow plastic feet are filled with what feels like lead or steel shot, which really helps keep it stable. Steel screw threads on the adjustment clamps means it should last. Another interesting use I think it could be put to is as a simple auto cue device. It is transparent and can be angled at 45 degrees, which is just what you need. It will hold Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding open, and there are not many books bigger and heavier than that!

the fact that it's wide means I can have a text book or 2 A4 pages easily visible in front of me
You'll need to make some space on your desk for this document holder but it's worth it. Rather than being a lightweight plastic holder that sits to the side of your monitor this one is designed to fit between your keyboard and monitor. I use a monitor stand so it works well for me, I can look down slightly rather than to the side, the fact that it's wide means I can have a text book or 2 A4 pages easily visible in front of me.

Total rip off.
Quite frankly, this is ridiculously overpriced (currently seventy-five pounds---RRP one-two-five!!!) for what it is. Whilst the two supports are fairly robust and feel to be of a durable nature, the rest (the surface and the elasticated line guide) feel very bog standard in comparison and certainly not of the premium quality materials you should be getting for this money. The surface, whilst reasonably thick, feels to be made of brittle plastic (it is the type that gives a sharp click, when flicked gently with a fingernail--rather than the softer sound you get from stronger plastic) and I fear it could easily snap or break if accidentally knocked. This isn't aided by the fact the two (heavy) supports have nothing really between them other than this surface, ensuring that to move it around you will have to pick up both supports simultaneously (or risk putting the pressure of the weighted supports on the plastic--which I wouldn't reccomend).Another flaw (which has been very badly thought out) comes from the elastic line guide. It is nothing more than an elasticated strip with a flimsy clip at either end. Whilst it clips around the surface fairly easily, the slightest tension makes it fly off! Therefore, you cannot change documents without taking it off and putting back on each time and if you are looking at anything with pages (for example, a brochure), unless it has been fully flattened they will cause the guide to come off (what is the point of it?). They advertise it as being able to hold "Very heavy documents or books". This may well be true, but the guide to hold the pages back cannot cope with anything over 1cm or so of pressure.I'd say this was worth around 30 pounds tops. Even then, you will still have to modofy it yourself (I've actually drilled some small holes in each side and passed the elastic through so it stays where I want it to--though you could also use some small bulldog clips to get roughly the same result).

Good for commercial environments but a little too pricey for home use, methinks.
Before ordering this item from Amazon Vine I did some research on the product. What I find astonishing is that in nearly 10 years this product still has the same limitations as it did all those years ago. I am specifically referring to the method of weighting the legs - some sort of small balls are placed in the legs and then the entry hole is covered with a small piece of rubber. Indeed, for the price of this product I would have liked to have seen something more robust to seal the holes - after all, some £70 for a copy holder - is asking a lot.The design itself is nothing special - the bottom ledge is serrated, presumably to stop paper copy from sliding forward; also, for reasons which i have not been able to fathom out - the middle section of the ledge bows out slightly to the front of the device.Assembling the DH 640 (the largest of the range, I believe) is straightforward; the acrylic looking body of the holder remains at the angle set with just the minimal amount of tension on the side arms/locks.

if you have the need to hold something like a heavy book then it's sturdy enough to do ...
Personally I can't see that the product has anything about it to warrant the price but it certainly does its job well. However, it takes up a fair amount of space on the desk and is somewhat excessive for holding a single sheet of paper. Saying that, if you have the need to hold something like a heavy book then it's sturdy enough to do so and this is possibly where it would be preferable to the more basic copy holders.

Fit for purpose, but seems overpriced
In general, this seems sturdy, reasonably well-made, and appropriate for its intended purpose. It does however seem more than a little expensive for its intended purpose and design features. I can't imagine that the materials and production time cost more than £10, and it's not as if it's such an innovative design that you would expect there to be significant development costs to recoup.Normally I try to avoid letting the cost influence the star rating, but if I saw an item this expensive with a 5 star rating, I would be expecting it to blow my socks off. It's absolutely fine, and I'd be happy enough with it if it cost say £15 or £20, but if I had paid £75 or £120 for this (as the product page suggests is the usual price), I would feel ripped off, possibly to the point of being angry.(to highlight, I asked my husband to guess how much this item retails for. He said, "high or low?". I said "high". And he guessed £20. So, he thought even £20 would be expensive for this item)So, quality of item: 3-4 starsValue for money: 1 starLeading to my final rating of 2 stars.

Practical copy holder.
This copy holder is wide enough to accommodate most sizes of documents. Can easily be adjusted so as not to obstruct visibility on computer monitors. Quite satisfied with this purchase.

Konzepthalter sehr gut.
Artikel sehr gut. Vor allem verdeckt er nicht den Bildschirm, da der Konzepthalter durchsichtig ist. Wir hätten gern eine Rechnung erhalten. Nach der Rechnung wird noch gefahndet.

Best Document Holder of All!!!
This document holder is another great 3-M product. It sits on the desk edge and will adjust so that the bottom extends below the desktop over and in front of the keyboard on its tray so that the computer screen remains completely visible for data entry. I've been looking for this sort of product for years, and I'm just so happy that I've found the perfect document holder for my purposes. Its geometry and operation is a bit difficult to figure out, but once mastered, the holder functions perfectly and is easy to adjust and use. It holds about an inch-thick pile of paper securely with a ribbed surface and a nice high molded-in bottom edge.

Excellent Desk Companion
I'd been looking around for a few months for something that would hold a textbook or papers in front of me while working on projects and schoolwork. I knew that the typical clip, hanging type units wouldn't work since they only held papers, but I noticed that one of the administrative assistants at work had one of these 3M Copy Holders at her desk and it seemed perfect for my needs. It seemed sturdy enough to hold the items I thought I'd need to use and it was very adjustable and well made. The Staples price in our catalog at work was over $100 so I thought that I wouldn't be able to afford one, but I searched for it on Amazon when I got home and found it for $40 cheaper! I ordered it immediately and received it the next day even without paying extra for shipping! Awesome product and customer service! Way to go Amazon, you've outdone yourself again!
