Good quality mouse!
This mouse has a very comfortable and ergonomic design. It fits perfectly in the palm of my hand with a space specifically to rest my third finger and my thumb. It is easy to use and uses a USB. "Xornet" is printed down the side where my third finger would rest, along with CM STORM and the loco printed on the back of the mouse. This has not been worn off in the time I have used this, and I use it for many hours daily (game addict!)The main part of the mouse is a shiny black, with the left and right mouse buttons being matte black to avoid any slipping of the fingers. In between the LMB and RMB there is a scroller which is nicely textured and slightly rubbery and then 2 arrowed buttons which can be binded to whatever function you wish. On both sides of the mouse there is a rubbery textured area which allows the user to gain grip on the mouse. The left side of the mouse contains two buttons MB4/5 I believe. These can also be binded and I use MB5 as a push-to-talk on Team-speak and a toggle mute on Skype. The wire is long which is also a benefit. This is a great gaming mouse, and for the price you cannot really go wrong. I would purchase this again and I would recommend it.

Xellent Xouse
I have been using this mouse for a month now and am very pleased with it. Don't worry about the lack of software, this really is not an issue as the thing only has 5 buttons. Also, my microsoft intellimouse software recognised it as a generic 5 button mouse and allowed me to configure the buttons for use in windows. The response is good and the DPI adjustment buttons can be used inside a game, on the fly, without the risk of catching them by accident.Ergonomically, this is described as a 'claw' mouse. I have small-medium hands and the bottom of the mouse finishes just on the lower part of the ball of my thumb. One thing I noticed, which I didn't expect, was that my hand was definitely not forced into a claw like shape. I can keep my hand pretty flat on this mouse. The 1 and 2 buttons are very long though, so you can adjust the shape of your hand quite a bit.On the sides of the mouse the rubber grip stops your fingers from slipping off.If this mouse has one drawback, it is a relatively high lift-off distance of 18mm, as I measure it. This can mean having to pull the thing off the desk to quite a height to re-centre it on your mousing surface. I have to say though, that at max DPI this is rarely necessary.I would recommend this mouse to people playing FPS. I have used it mainly for ARMA2 since purchase and found it ideal for this, stopping down the DPI for long-range engagements has made a measurable difference to my hit rate. I don't think there is a better mouse for this price, having shopped around.

Worst mouse I've ever used
This afternoon I've started looking at getting a replacement mouse not even two months after I purchased this, having gone to get some lunch and come back to having this mouse just skipping everywhere all over the screen, completely unuseable. And honestly, I should have sent this thing back the day I got it.This is not my first poor experience with a CM mouse, having used their Sentinel Advance before and endured tracking problems which a firmware update promised to fix, but was only released after months and failed to even fix the problem. But I figured that was their first ever mouse they've made so I'd give them a second chance, after all, the Xornet looked like a fairly standard optical mouse so it couldn't go too wrong right?Well, apparently it can. Right away I noticed poor tracking issues, with the mouse cursor slowly jittering across the screen when left on its own and otherwise not being able to move smoothly from one side of the screen to the other. I put this down as simply not tracking too well on bedsheets (which even then would be a design flaw as its small size lends itself to laptop use) and did my best to ignore that issue. A few weeks later, it decided it wasn't inconviencing me enough and so started to turn off for about 5 seconds if lifted up too suddenly, or if even the slightest shake or a slight tug on the wire. At this point I figured I'd probably just end up leaving it a 2 star review when I could be bothered to look for a new mouse, but, as mentioned, today it decided for me that I had been putting off looking for a new one long enough. You can get better mice than this from a pound shop, avoid this one.Oh, and the DPI buttons are too easy to accidentally press.

Not Bad
After trying around 10-12 gaming mice, I realised I was looking for the wrong type of mouse, i.e. a big mouse for my big hands... However I realised after trying the Logitech G9X (which is a small claw-grip mouse when using the textured exchangeable grip) what I really needed was a smaller mouse which didn't fit into my palm, but rather let me grip it with my hand clawed. The G9X is a good mouse, the quality is excellent, however it has a few fatal design flaws which, if you look on the Logitech forums you'll see they are widely known about. I won't list them here as I'm not reviewing that mouse. The CM Storm Xornet while not having the quality of the Logitech or the smoothness of movement, is still an excellent mouse for the price. Adjustable sensitivity buttons, thumb buttons and rubberised side grips are all pluses. I give the mouse 4/5 as there is no sensitivity indicator light, profile switching and the jumps between sensitivity steps seem quite high (i think this can be changed with a firmware update though. I know I shouldn't really mark it down for lacking the fancy software and weight systems of more expensive mice, but relative to the price, this mouse is a little gem. I recommend it highly as a claw grip mouse you may only use for gaming...

A unique and very very good mouse for those who find most mice uncomfortable.
This mouse offers a unique aesthetic and grip. The price isn't too bad either! My brother bought one too after trying mine out. I just wish the new version didn't have the hexagon pattern side grip. The highlight for sure is the ring finger rest.
