Need to stick tile to metal fireplace surround?
I replaced the fireplace in my home and wanted to tile around it. The gas fireplace has a metal surround on all four sides. It's attached to the wood studs along the edges. You put cement board over the studs and tile over the top of that. You also need to overlap tile over some of the metal. I spent hours researching and could not any videos showing how to lay tile on metal. You cannot use mortar or a mastic on metal because it wont grab onto it. The installation guide for the fireplace said to use a high temp caulk/adhesive. They did not mention this product specifically so I had to take a chance. When I started to place tile I had several that were partially on the cement board and the metal. I used mastic on the parts touching cement board, and this stuff for the parts touching metal. I put the adhesive on the metal directly, but also back buttered the tile and it grabbed onto the metal pretty well. You can still move them around for 10 minutes or so but after that they were not able to slide around. To finish off the edges I bought the metal tile edging and cut off the piece that's supposed to sit underneath the tile. I cut the corners at a 45 with my dremel and used this adhesive to hold it in place. I put on several pieces of masking tape overnight until it was dried. This turned out awesome! I'm not a fan of exposed tile edges so thats why I did this. If you can install edging the correct way I would go that route, but I didn't think of it until after so I had to do it like this. I've run the fireplace several times and the adhesive does not soften or anything. It's a great product.Wear gloves! This stuff will make a huge mess on your skin. Use rubbing alcohol to clean it if needed.

Safely seal your high heat air gaps!
The high heat silicone sealant for fireplaces is a game-changer for anyone looking to maintain the integrity and safety of their fireplace. Its heat-resistant properties make it ideal for sealing joints and gaps in fireplaces, chimneys, and wood-burning stoves, ensuring they remain airtight and efficient. The silicone formula withstands extreme temperatures, preventing cracks, leaks, and smoke from escaping. Its easy-to-use applicator allows for precise application, and the waterproof seal provides long-lasting protection against moisture and corrosion. However, proper ventilation during application is crucial due to the strong odor. Overall, it's a must-have product for anyone wanting to ensure the safety and efficiency of their fireplace or wood-burning appliance.

Many uses
My smoker like most leaked from the lid while it was closed loosing both heat and smoke. I place a bead on the smoker around the edge covered it with plastic wrap and closed the lid, 24 hours later I lifted the lid took off and plastic wrap and my smoker no longer leaks heat or smoke. Second smoker I sealed this way

Using the product to make pewter casting
I made a cast in plaster of a fish, then used the silicone over the cast. Then used hot pewter to fill in the silicone mold. I didn't have enough pewter to get the tail. will recast when i get more pewter.

So far so good
Some tiles fell off on the surround of our fireplace. This was as easy to use as caulk. I applied the glue to the back of the tiles and secured them with painters tape. 24 hours later I removed the tape and the fireplace was fixed. It's been over a month and they are still secure.

Works as I hoped, no more inside air leaking up the chimney.
Did a good job sealing around our fireplace's new doors. We have a fireplace that has an intake from outside and then has fans/vents that go through the chimney pipe. With this product, we're a lot closer to not losing any of our indoor warm air up the chimney. When the fireplace is really going, we get 400 degree hot air from the fireplace out into the room and no noticeable drop in temperature anywhere else in the house (due to hot air up the chimney).Note the thermal leakage (and drafts) in Image 1 vs Image 2 and you can see just how well this product sealed around the fireplace. As you would expect, this smells like vinegar when curing, but it handles just like normal calk and has held up well to high temperatures.
