An excellent account of Second World War MTB,s
This uncensored account of the coastal small motor gunboats that roamed the vast reaches of the North Sea looking to attack the German E-boats is the best account I have ever read . The author Robert Hichens has written a wonderful book which I found difficult to put down telling of all the trials and tribulations that it took to learn the art of using fast boats against each other and finally getting the kills they so wished for . I recommend this book to anyone interested in the war and they won,t be disapointed , buy it !

The unredacted version
I have a copy of the version, heavily redacted, published during WW2. It was never clear how much had been removed but it amounted to nearly one third of the original manuscript. The full version contains much more detail, place and people names, commentary on equipment and tactics as well as personal views of the officers. Its a unique first hand account written at the time and highly recommended.
