Fixed my blue ray display issues
Have a 100' hdmi cable (bluejeanscable.com) and it worked great for Verizon fios cable (1080i). But when I added a blueray player I couldn't get a signal. Purchased the extender. No luck without the power adapter, but with the power supply and setting the extender on the highest output everything works great. Would be a 5star review if monoprice included or at least offered the appropriate power supply for sale. Had to research to find the appropriate amps/pin connection combo, also purchased from amazon.

Does not include power adapter...stupid
Repeater works just fine - no problems. However, Monoprice couldn't be bothered to include a $5 power adapter, so I'm subtracting two stars for vendor stupidity. I knew upfront that it didn't include a power adapter, but it's still stupid that I had to order it separately. Stop being stupid, Monoprice - include a power adapter with hardware that requires power.

Nice equalizer unit. Buy the 5 volt power supply separately.
Nice equalizer unit: picture is fine and the equalizer runs cool at the end of a 50 foot long HDMI cable so that's basically good, mission accomplished. The driver is an ASUS Radeon 7700 graphics card, the receiver is an older 42 inch LED TV. 2 things would make me happier: first, it would be nice if the unit included the 5 volt power supply. Although the power supply is not always needed, the equalizer needs the supply for challenging cases and I prefer to be on the conservative side. I happened to have a spare 5 volt supply and the plug worked so happy there and I don't see much difference in the picture if any when I disconnect the power supply. Second thing that would make me happier: understanding the equalizer dial. The equalizer dial goes from zero to nine, out of the box it was set to zero. Because my cable is about middle of the road (50 feet long, 4400p qualified) I set the equalizer to five. To be honest I did not see any difference in picture at any setting, zero to five. I did not try higher equalizer levels (six to nine). My guess is the equalizer setting is more important if the HDMI cable is rated 1080p and so might have more signal dispersion.

DOESN'T WORK FOR REDMERE CABLE USERS!!!
Didn't work for my setup. Sony blu ray to Yamaha receiver, out to Monoprice 3d splitter, redmere hdmi out to projector.Connected Monoprice support and this doesn't work with redmere cables. The cable tries to see this as a "display" and ends signal there. Boo!!!Watch out redmere users! I tried close to source, close to display, and all applicable settings on unit.

I definitely had my doubts but it worked with my 4x4 HDMI Matrix
I was on the verge of scrapping my old HDMI matrix and upgrading to a full Cat5e system but I really wasn't excited about dropping $600 for the same basic functionality and figured this was worth a shot. I'm currently running about 60 feet of fairly cheap HDMI cable from the living room to the bedroom. The source of the signal is a Monoprice 4x4 HDMI Matrixย Monoprice 4X4 True Matrix HDMI Powered Switch w/ Remote (Rev. 3.0) . When I started the bedroom tv was completely unresponsive using the cable alone. I gave a Cat5e HDMI extenderย Portta PET30DP 10-Inch HDMI Extender over Cat5e or Cat6 Cables ย a try thinking it'd be a good test for future expansion to the back patio but apparently those units don't communicate well with the matrix. I later found on AVS Forum that I wasn't the only one with the problem.Anyway, this thing did the trick. There might be a slight degradation in picture quality if you look for it but it's not enough to bother me. I'm currently running it passively but I wouldn't be surprised if adding an external power source (not included but optional) improves the video quality. That and the cheap HDMI cable passes 3 HVAC units and a bathroom fan on its journey through the attic. Interference is abundant so there are many other factors at work here. Overall, it's doing what it's supposed to do and I'm happy with it.

Saved my Home Theater
I needed a fix for my Home theater setup. Had to upgrade the projector and receiver for HDMI, I was using a HTPC with vga cable to my old projector which finally died after all these years. New setup with 30 ft high speed HDMI cable from receiver to new projector, the blue screen about the frequency not correct, if I plug directly into either the bluray player of HTPC it works but going through the receiver it dose not work unless a put the resolution to 720p. I got the HDMI extender this weekend and put it on the cable end at the projector, had to adjust the little pot on the box. I turned it until something worked, it was now set at 3, I was using this for about 15 min and it dropped the picture went to blue screen then came back on, it did this a few times more. I decided to try different settings, the one that worked best for me was set at 2. No drops of the picture with either the bluray or pc. I decided to try the extender on the beginning of the cable, at the receiver end, same setting, picture is great I watched a movie with out any issues, pausing, restarting and stopping and then restarting. I am pretty impressed.

Won't last long
Ok I bought this a year ago in January. At first it worked fine signal was not dropping and picture was fine for couple of months. Then it started again, it would drop picture ever so often..I bought a 5 v power supply and then it was fine but the picture would droup every hour or so or when ever our Hvac turned on. Now today it stopped working! Had to remove this device all together to get the picture on my screen. The redlight on the repeater device would keep blinking rather than stay on.i would not recommend this since does not seem to last long...model he-ext-eq-mtl(c).pid 7700. I was trying to find warranty info but don't know who to call ???

Cheap and effective solution for long cable runs
I have a 10m HDMI cable to a projector (Panasonic AE6000E), and after replacing my AV receiver I found that some blu-rays wouldn't output video to the projector any more. The HDMI cable is buried underneath the floor, so it would be very difficult to replace. This little box immediate solved the problem. I plugged it in as instructed at the projector end of the cable and after turning it up to setting '3' the blank screen was replaced by video. No need for the optional power connection, either.A cheap and effective solution to problems caused by long HDMI cables.

Didn't work for my situation - but great customer service
This didn't work at all for me. I was using it with a 75' cable and trying to run to a 3x1 HDMI switch and it made no difference, even with a 5-Volt external power source. I don't know if I received a defective product but I tried it at both ends of the cable, between the source and the cable, as well as between the cable and the display, and it didn't seem to help at all. My issue wasn't like many other customers though with poor quality - it was not getting any signal whatsoever. If you are getting some signal then it sounds like this will help with your quality. The customer service was excellent as they gave me a full refund within a day.

Worked for my setup.
Without any power supply, it managed to restore my 1080p signal (could only handle up to 1080i before the repeater was added) to my remote TV (about 50 feet cable).

Gets the job done nicely (30 ft + device +35 ft hdmi cable)
Gets the job done nicely (30 ft + device +35 ft hdmi cable)...I have had to unplug/disconnect it for a few minutes when the signal developed static (maybe 4 times in the course of a year)

This extender do exactly what I want. Easy to use, and run with an BlackMagic ATEM and Panasonic ProSummer camera via 75ft of HDMI cable. Thanks !
