Works and provides a nice clean smell. You know it's working.
It's been over 90 days. I've been using this little gadget every day. Though I still don't understand how it supposedly can cover 600 square feet... however, I know it works because when I enter our tv room which is connected to the kitchen, it smells clean and fresh.I did not use the Essential Oil it came with because from the smell, and as a candle / soap maker, I know it is not authentic Lavender Oil.I use Lemon, Lavender and all sort of EOs - and this little gadget does indeed make the room smell fresh and you can see that it does clean the air because you can see the water is either brownish or gray.I also love the purple light [we only turn that on at night.]CONSIt is a bit noisy especially when you turn it up. I just turn on the machine in the evenings, turn it off for a few hours in the morning and back on again when we leave for work. So the noise doesn't really bother us.We are happy with our purchase. I am hoping it will last longer than a year.

Water Air Freshener
Love this product. Instead of using it with essential oils, I use the laundry beads or crystals in my favorite scents. It works wonderfully and scents my entire living space. It only takes a small amount and I empty the water every two or three days and put fresh water and beads in. The scent I'm using now is a pineapple coconut and is perfect for the summer.

Do not waste money on those little bottles that the product suggests
I'd seen these around before and was always curious. Now I own one and here's my 2 cents on it:*side note: I ordinarily use the scented oils that you use for a Diffuser. There is a difference between diffuser oil and oils used for heating. Heating oils will mix with the water and start to become very sudsy. No bueno. Diffuser oil will not "mix" with the water, and the scent will endure for much longer. Do not waste money on those little bottles that the product suggests. The ones that it came with hardly left a noticeable scent in a small bathroom.PROS: if you use diffuser oil, the scent will in fact spread itself throughout a well ventilated house or apartment. What I love about this product is that while the smell is noticeable and very present, it is at the same time subtle and not overpowering. Go to Walmart and buy the Linen scented diffuser oil (where all the potpourri and candles are), you will be so pleased on how refreshing the house will smell. Also, even at running at full power, the globe does not produce a whole lot of sound, and after a few minutes or so, it will be something that you don't even notice. The sound is a lot like a gentle "swishing" noise, so that even may be relaxing in itself.CONS: Whether or not you use the preferred oil, or any oil at all, there will be tiny particles of water that will inevitably collect on the interior of the top portion of the globe. While I am confident at this point that the electronics are protected from any water damage, it is a bit difficult to clean, as after a lot of use, the dust and other particles that get mixed with the water will start to collect on the inside, and frankly, it just looks like it's something that should be cleaned off. This is very difficult and labor intensive, unless the device is built to allow you to simply run the whole thing under a hot tap...something I have yet to do.But overall, the globe works amazingly. Money aside, I believe that this is one of best air "revitalizers" or "fresheners" that you can possibly own, due to it's overall effectiveness. I purchased on for my uncle, who will forever be smoking inside of his very small trailer, and I can honestly say that after a few minutes of running on his kitchen counter, the globe had done a serious number at making the place smell less like an ashtray. This is not an air purifier--it will not remove offensive odors and particulates from the air, but I think it does a stellar job of replacing them, if not "masking" them altogether.

EcoGecko Globe
Years ago I had the Homedics Brethe. Loved it! Hoped this was same. Sadly it isn't. Only can get scent to spread if on high- which makes the unit run a bit loud. Could be the scents that I want to use in it are more of the citrus type-maybe those don't last. And those scents/essential oils are not cheap. The unit itself cost way to much for what it is. Not sure if water clouds from cleaning air or the scent you put in it. Nice feature with the on/off switch on cord as well as top of unit.Top of globe has a button that you turn to turn on or to adjust the rate of speed the water spins at. Also has a little switch on globe top for light to be on or off. The light is a blue hue and does light up a darkened room.

LOVE MINE!
Ok, this is the first time I have wrote a review for anything. But I wanted to say that I really love ours. I originally got it to put in our dining room, but since we have a bigger, bulkier air purifier in our livingroom, I decided to put the EcoGecko in our room. It has a blue light on it that you can turn off and on (i use it as a nightlight). You can control the speed to it, also. During the day I have it up pretty high but at night while we're sleeping I turn it down about mid-way that way it isn't very loud. You also get a free little thing of the EcoGecko Scented Oil, I got Lavender. I like to clean the bowl out before bed, soap and water and scrub it good. Then fill it up to the highest mark, add a few drops of the lavender oil (and a few drops of some peppermint oil that I had before) and it makes a GREAT relaxing scent. I have now had it for about 2 months and it has been used EVERY day since then. I am even planning to get one for my 3 year-olds room :) ...an air purifiying night light?? -I'M IN!
