excellent product and money saver.
I have an Aquience 550S Cube Aquarium see here for tank http://www.aquaone.co.uk/aquience_cube.php, I had a problem in that the lighting system broke, the lighting system is a sealed unit and the lighting system replacement was going to cost me in excess of £100. about a quarter or a bit more of the tank price which i thought was ridiculous.I searched for all sorts of tube lighting systems, and couldn't find one i liked and a double tube driver. I searched for led lighting and i finally came upon this, I ordered this for around £25 then i realised to my horror that the tank i had, used a support brace to strengthen the tank and i would not be able to put the light under the existing one. I need not have worried i got the item, and plugged it in, rested the right hand side of the light on the ledge of the tank, the light comes with two brackets which clamp on to either side of the support brace in the tank and keep the light completely stable (as the unit is waterproof it would not be the end of the world if it fell in, but i do not see this happening).I have seen in some other reviews they say that you can see the reflection of the lights in the water, i tried the lighting system behind the existing tube lights and i got a really horrible light reflection that was very distracting, however when i put the light before the old system in the tank i can no longer see this, so a little trial and error is recommended. The light while not being quite as bright as 2 15W strip lights, is more than adequate, and brings out lovely detail on the fish. I cannot find fault with this light so far as it is so versatile and has saved me a lot of money.I will try and post a picture of the fitting of the light in due course, but if you have any questions i will be happy to answer them if i can.only slight con is that the lead could be a little longer, but it fits quite nicely with my arrangement. as the power cable has a male and female socket you could buy very cheaply a cable which would extend the connection but you probably will not need this.Go and buy this item you will not regret it, if it lasts me even a year or so, i will still save money getting a new one as it is only slightly more expensive than buying two tube lights.

Perfect replacement for old lighting system
I bought this to replace the fluorescent lighting in my AquaOne Aquastyle 620 tank. I had recently replaced the bulbs as they had both gone in quick succession, and then one of the new ones went again. The bulb looked kind of brown at the base which made me think that the underlying system was bad; this spurred me on to make the change to an LED system.First thing, I couldn’t be much happier with this new system. It’s very bright and clear, and seems plenty strong enough for the plants. I have another led bar in the tank (as a quick lighting solution when both bulbs went), and that is incredibly poor by comparison. This lighting is in a different league, you won’t be disappointed.Secondly, fitting it was relatively straightforward. Although of course you don’t need to go to the lengths that I did rest assured that if you have the same tank it will fit perfectly. I decided to remove all of the old fluorescent system, stripped out both ballasts and all wiring. Pleasantly, the securing bolt holes for the original ballasts are perfectly located for securing the new lighting bracket. Take out the old, bolt in the new. The tank lid is now so much lighter (weight), brighter, and generally better. I have attached pictures to show the disassembly process and how the new lighting fits into the original space; maybe someone will find it useful.Very pleased!

the AQUAGROW gives a good light but i felt a little more was needed ...
Having recently moved over from T5 lighting to LED to try and keep running costs down i bought these to supplement 2 Growbeam 600 units. My tank is 40inx18inx15 previeously running about 110w of T5,the AQUAGROW gives a good light but i felt a little more was needed as the back and corners of the tank seemed a little dull. The two 47cm units soved this problem very well indeed.I think if you were going to use these units as your only light source in a planted tank(mine is planted) your unlikely to achieve the right conditions for high light requirement plants. If you are running a tank which has low light requirement plants IE,Java,Anibias,Swords, and the like you might get away with four units of this size or 2 larger ones.If however you have a decorative tank with just fish and ornements go for them they are cheap and perform well in this scenario and as i stated low light requirement plants should be fine. The only reason i have smaller units and not the longer ones is i like to stagger my light requirements.I am not sure of the wattage of these units but it is very low,my Gowbeams are 12watts per unit so i have gone from 110watts to around 35watts with much the same light output.Over a twelve month period thats quite a saving. They are very good value for money for what they are.

excellent and bright waterproof led lighting - what's not to love?
I bought this to replace the blown lighting rig in my Aqua Style AR-980 tank. I wasn't sure whether to go for this or the 90cm version, or whether to go for two or three tubes. In the end, I plumped for this - and it's perfect.I've got a relatively low-light setup in terms of plants (java fern, crypts, amazon sword, etc) so masses of lighting wasn't my priority. However these things are *bright* - they beat the two 35W tubes I was using in the hood hands-down, and it's a whiter, cleaner light as well. In terms of fit, the width is perfect - I've used two of the plastic screw supports in the hood with the supplied screw clamps, and they sit perfectly in the lighting area of the hood and push plenty of light down into the tank.I think that the 90cm lights would have fit in just as well into the hood (there's plenty of space at either end), but this is perfect for my lighting requirements, and uses far less power to boot.If I'm being picky, I would have liked the connector to be further down the cable away from the tank, but there's still enough clearance from the back of the tank for it not to be a problem. The switch is near the plug end, but as I use them on a timer it's always on for me anyway, and the timer switches it on and off automatically.
