Tilly and the Buttons Bettine Dress Sewing Pattern, UK 6-20

This pattern was delivered within two days! A very good quality item. The pattern is printed on a thick paper, no flimsy tissue here, and the envelope is bigger and better quality than the usual pattern envelopes. Apart from the pattern, the envelope contains an instruction booklet with colour photos to guide you through the making of this dress. The instructions are clear and don't read as if they've been translated very badly from another language. This pattern is aimed at novice sewers but don't be put off if you have more experience, this is a fun dress and I shall be making it for my daughters, daughter-in-law and myself.The photos on the front of the envelope don't, I think, do justice to the dress but if you look on Pinterest you'll find a selection of other peoples creations. Very impressed, I'll definitely be looking at her other patterns.

great easy to wear style, I did have to add some extra to the bust as its only really suitable for up to a c cup, but I graded between sizes and as its a relaxed fit it seems to work, I'm not wild about tulip shaped skirts so I drew straight down from the hip point, this can be a versatile pattern if you have some experience, or an easy to follow pattern if you are of a standard shape and stick to everything and follow the instructions

This is my second Tilly and the buttons pattern and again, really easy to follow. The pattern paper is thick, which makes it easy to work with and the full colour booklet with step by step instructions really clear to follow - I am a beginner and was able to understand it all. Also loved the result: a Bettine dress!

Be careful to measure yourself before you cut your fabric. I'm so glad I did. I am usually a size 14 but according to the measurements on the pattern I needed a size 20!!! The finished dress is lovely and the step by step instructions were nice and clear. I love the fact that the pattern is on proper paper rather than tissue but having to go up 4 dress sizes is ridiculous.

I like the style of the dress. It's much better for a curvy figure compared to the Stevie tunic (I found it too boxy). If you have a big bust you may need to add some length to the bodice. I might add bust darts to the next version I make.

Another amazing pattern from Tilley. Easy to follow excellent instructions with pictures. Actual pattern made of thick paper and good quality. Really pleased with dress, will be making more. Excellent for beginners and more experienced needle folk. Arrived quickly and packaged well. Would thoroughly recommend.

Love it. Helpful instructions and pictures throughout, with no zips, buttons or tricky sewing. Result looks great. Would recommend sewing in viscose/rayon.
