Awkward but engaging
A great product for the children. The bugs will get stuck in the tubing, generally near the 3-way vertical junctions, but that just keeps them interested. The bugs also occassionaly fall sideways, inviting them to be "rescued" and put back upright. Would probably be boring if the bugs roamed perfectly...

Good addition to the Hexbug collection
My 5 year old son choose to buy this with his birthday money recently & he seems really pleased with it. He can join the sections together himself but struggles to get the connectors off without some help. On the whole I think it was good value at the price we paid on Amazon, however, while the Hurricane does join up with the portable hexbug playset he already has, only the V2 hexbug which came with the Hurricane can be used in the Hurricane as the ordinary hexbugs can't climb. Only other negative is that the connections between the sections may wear loose with time (particularly if it is taken apart regularly) meaning that it may start to collapse. Ours is fine so far but its only been a couple of weeks.

I think it's a waste of money as the bugs are rubbish at climbing
I think it's a waste of money as the bugs are rubbish at climbing. My son is 4 so he would be the primary audience and he loves it. I just see it as landfill in 6 months when the novelty wears off.

Great fun!
A good versatile toy - it encourages interaction and creativity as you can vary the loops. Our little boy (nearly 6) plays with it by himself and also with his friends. Needs a little adult help clipping some pieces together as the way it clips together is quite sturdy and requires a little force - this is a good thing as it holds together well. Probably worth buying an extra hexbug, we've had a lot of fun racing them.

Great buy
My 5yo son loves this it's easy enough for him to assemble / change the track around. The bugs themselves are fascinating & scuttle around at great speed, however, they do sometimes get a little stuck and need a helping hand climbing the vertices posts. Would buy more & recommend this to any hex bug fans.

Great toy, went down very well.
I got this for my nephew's 8th birthday today. He loves it (as did his 6-yr-old brother, and their dad). Being able to take it apart and construct in different ways is a big part of the playability, and the boys were entertained for hours watching the bugs going round, and working out new ways to combine the pieces. You only get one bug with this set, so I also bought an extra nano v2 with my order. I think more sets of this will be on the Christmas list.

Brilliant fun!
My 6 year old daughter loves this and has added it to her existing Habitat set. Yes, they are fiddly for younger hands to disassemble, but we tend to keep our assembled for weeks at a time. The climbing Nanos are very cool when going up these clear columns, but remember to keep the batteries fresh, or they'll tend to get stuck.

Doesn't work - do not buy!
I'm sorry to say that this is a real disappointment. Bought for my 4 year old at Christmas and was already unused by Dec 26. Even with a new battery the bug can't climb up the tubes properly - it's maddeningly slow, and gets stuck at practically every white junction. An adult or teenager then has to disassemble the track to get the bug out, and reassemble it, only for the bug to get stuck again about 30 to 60 seconds later. The bug moves well when it's going horizontally, which is what I understand the V1 bugs did, and I wish I had been able to buy one of those because the kids love it when it's going round the orange table part of the circuit. Unfortunately a well meaning relative "cleared up" the box and packaging which means it may be difficult to return this item, but if that hadn't happened it would be going straight back. Do not buy.
