Considering these mats are being sold for about 60% off in comparison to others (even the activana website itself), you get an awesome yoga mat that won't slip under most conditions.However, this does slip a little under extremely wet conditions. I tend to sweat A LOT when I go to hot yoga and I drench my mat. So if you're someone who does too, take this into consideration. Having said that, it DOES work better than a yoga mat and a yoga towel under the same conditions. So considering that and the very affordable price, it's a great deal, in my opinion!Wish they offered the other designs from the pictures on Amazon too! I love elephants so it wasn't a big deal, but I would have liked the black and blue tribal one better.But overall, I love it and have recommended it to many other people!

I really like the texture of this mat. The top layer is a microfiber that has a nice suede-like feel. The mat itself is light weight and durable; and retains grip during hot yoga and vinyasa flow practices – no towel necessary. I like how the bag can contain extra clothing. Plus it’s easy to transport or bring on a bike. It also rolls up tightly and lays completely flat after being rolled up for a longer period of time. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the Activana yoga matt, it's a great product and I highly recommend it.

I got this as a gift after joining a Bikram Yoga studio and couldn't wait to try it. I originally went to class with my regular yoga mat and a non slip hot yoga towel that I would place on top. They were both working great but my boyfriend thought I needed something more specifically made for Bikram since I sweat profusely for 90 minutes each class. The first day I tried it, I noticed I kept slipping and my feet would slide where there was more sweat. I thought maybe it was because it was new so I gave it another try the next day and it was even worse! That day after class I used my face towel to dry off the pool of sweat I left behind on the mat and the towel would just easily slide like if I was wiping down a glass surface. I liked the feel, size and design so much that I took it back one more time and thought third time is a charm but once again, I was not satisfied. I even noticed that when I unrolled it, the mat was still damp from the night before after I wiped it down. I really want to keep it and just hope that I don't keep slipping and sliding but I'm afraid nothing is going to change. Another disadvantage was the 7 lb. weight making it hard to carry it because I had to carry the weight on one shoulder and then switch to even out the strain I would feel while walking. A great advantage is the thickness and smooth feel of the top part of the mat that resembles a soft suede material. I shall be returning this one in hope to find a lighter one and one that keeps the sweat from making me slip and slide like my good old yoga towel does!
