Hanging Lantern Garden Bird Feeder - My Favourites - Easy fill, rainproof roof, green

I ordered this feeder as the description said it would deter large birds. I have a vendetta against starlings and pigeons! The clinging birds love it and although the starlings do occasionally try to feed from it, they give up. The pigeons haven't even tried!It's definitely value for money

Arrived quickly and in good condition. It has taken our garden birds some time to get accustomed to this novel way of feeding but the smaller birds have learned to use it after a few weeks. We do have it hanging with the usual style of feeders so perhaps that's why the birds ignored it for so long? It's easier to peck food from the other ones? It is still out there and feeding the birds though. We bring it in and empty it and wash it out very easily, every so often. We are hoping that it will appeal to more birds in these colder months. We fully intend to support the birds throughout the winter. Sorry I can't say too much more. Perhaps if it was on it's own it would attract more birds? Good luck. It's exactly what it says it is.

This is my 2nd feeder, these are brilliant, they are waterproof, easy to fill and clean, 10 out of 10 product

I was looking for a rainproof design, and this fits the bill. However, it is way bigger than I thought. I would have preferred a feeder half the size. Never mind that, the birds seem a bit baffled as they want to feed but can't easily land or feed whilst fluttering, as they would on regular feeders . Yesterday, a lovely goldfinch (first sighting!!!) tried 3 times and then gave up. I was disappointed. This morning, I watched a great tit being a nit put off, but Mr goldfinch had understood how to perch and get food. I then saw a few other birds have a go.However they seem to have to crsne their neck forwards a bit too much, so I think that whilst they will use it to get to the food they want, it may not be very good for their health! I'm a bit miffed as I had ordered two... But I will try to modify the one I am trialling, adding little twigs to perch on (I plan to melt little holes in the seed tray so twigs csn be pushed through) Hopefully, that will make it easier for our lovely feathered friends.

I do very little reviews, but I had to give 5*s for this bird feeder! This is my second purchase, and the original one is still going strong. In my opinion it is the best bird feeder I have ever purchased. The birds adapted quickly to it - hardly any seed is thrown to the ground (as with my other feeders) - very sturdy, as when a squirrel hurled it on to the flagged ground, it survived without any damage! It fulfills it`s product description. I can highly recommend this excellent product.

Bit disapointed. Overall its seems like a good product, except I purchased as wanted to feed the smaller birds that get pushed away from the other feeders in the garden by the Starlings, (Blue tits, Robins, Sparrows etc). This seemed to be advertised as not sutible for the pesky Starlings. Not so, mine have no problem hanging on and picking it clean.That said its a nice addition to the garden and seems well made.

Fantastic feeder. In less than a day I had birds feeding from it (as many will know it can take days for birds to become comfortable with a new feeder in the garden) Perfect for the smaller birds such as blue tits, great tits and long tailed tits. Easy to fill and easy to clean. It allows for larger feeds such as suet nibbles to pass through. A great addition to our seed feeders. The design stops the larger birds feeding from it (I have a ground feeder for them). The squirrels leave it alone as I have it positioned so it isn't easy for them to get to (obviously as its made.from plastic) so they stick to the feed i leave out for them. I am really pleased with this feeder.

I put this feeder underneath the Aspects Super Dome baffle. Since the baffle has a small hook up inside and the bird feeder has a small ring hanger it's perfect.UPDATE: My only negative comment is that due to the shape of the feeder, seed often gets stuck along a small groove in the feeder. Only shaking the feeder or very high winds will make the seed drop to where birds can reach the seed.

The chickadees and finches could not grasp the bottom tray due to its thickness
