Great coffee maker and nice too
Nice looking and productive coffee maker, has unique lcd scale for coffee display and nice blue light. Easy to operate really and coffee test great. So far two months using it no problem at all works as expected. Yes like is any product have some minor things first the cord is too short, second carefree glass really thin so you need to be careful not broke it while washing. But that’s all, for this price it’s really good coffee maker. 👍

Good idea, poor execution....then it broke
Bought this in December, was broken by February!I did enjoy the scale feature and that the water reservoir is separate from the coffee. The carafe was nice and rarely spilled. The coffee pot only stays on for 2 hours before turning off, not long enough for a mom lol. It also does not tell you how long its been on. Also the lid does not stay open to fill with coffee. It's just annoying to have to hold it open while filling the coffee.2 days ago I came to notice the pot was scrolling through the time as if I were resetting it. I was not touching the coffeepot. I unplugged it and when I plugged it back in it would no longer work.Im pretty glad I kept my old coffeepot!

Makes a lot of good coffee
This coffee maker does make quality coffee and has a very large carafe.Pros:Good CoffeeLarge Carafe with an excellent spout (no dribbling)Scale keeps the coffee consistent -- excellent featureSmall footprintCons:The lid over the coffee basket does not like to stay open. Takes a few tries to keep it open.Very narrow water reservoir. Careful!Time setting and program setting are difficult with buttons on the side.Overall, I would rate this as 4.5 stars as it really does make great coffee. The few cons mentioned are far outweighed by the pros and would definitely buy again.

I know, first world problems....but....
This is the 3rd Hamilton Beach coffee pot we have owned. loved the first 2 and the last is still working after 5 years but we just moved it to the camper. Here is what i didn't like:1. The finish on this unit is a cheap flat black plastic, where as the previous models were nice gloss finish. Just looks cheap and hard to clean.2. The door on top where you put the filter and coffee will not stay open on its own. I don't know why they designed the door where you have to hold it open while you are pouring the coffee in the basket. I have to wedge mine under the cabinet so it will stay open while I fill it. This is the most aggravating.3. Our old models had the rear tank that would come off and you could fill and replace. I liked that and I assumed this model would be the same. It is not. It has a small door on the top back of the unit where you have to fill the pot up and pour it in the unit. Its fine, but i really got used to that removable tank and grew to like the simplicity. 4. The deciding factor for me purchasing this unit was the the fact it would tell you how many scoops you have added by weight. We grind our own beans and pour directly into the basket. Also, the coffee we like gets very strong and bitter very quick with too much coffee. This feature works ok but you have to pour very slow for it to give an accurate response. The good:It makes a great cup of coffee at the right temperature pretty fast! At the end of the day that is what matters and we are going to keep the unit. Its just a little aggravating that some small oversights could have made this unit exceptional.

Great coffee; digital display failed twice.
Makes great coffee, but the digital display faded after a few months. I paid for shipping and the warranty sent me a new one. Now that display is so dim I can’t read it unless it is night and the lights are out. As long as I don’t need the clock or scale, it makes fine coffee. But having two displays fail in the same manner tells me this product is not made well.

Makes coffee, but the scale feature is not needed
It makes coffee just fine, but the scale feature is annoying. You end up resetting the scale every time. But like I said it makes coffee.

I wanted to like this coffee pot, I really did.
The only thing this unit does successfully is aggravate it's user.Pros:- it can make water warm enough to eventually spew over grounds to make what can be considered a cup of "coffee"- the engineers who designed this have really nailed it when it comes to annoyance and inconvenience.Cons:- water is heated to just barely hot enough to brew coffee making for a somewhat kind of sort of hot coffee.- pot warmer .. well.. it sucks. It gets about two degrees colder than the sun which effectively burns the coffee to the bottom of the pot and then after that turns off in about 10 mins leaving a lovely warm/cold slurry that is just delightfully nauseating.- the grounds compartment lid only opens to about 89° perpendicular to the top which allows for the nice feature of knocking the coffee out of your hands when you fill the machine if not balanced just perfectly when loading grounds. If you have evolved to have three hands, this shouldn't be a problem for you.- the scale does not measure accurately. Jumps from 0 to 6 to 0 to 16 during fill. If you like guessing games and games of skill, you would consider this a plus.- water fill slot on the back is just wide enough to allow for expert level filling. If you don't aim just right, your counter will get a nice puddle on it. Maybe a pro if you like wet living conditions.I could go on but, seriously, just find another machine. I would return it but honestly, it would be more trouble to do so, I'll just take it out back and put it out of it's misery. Obviously this unit is suffering and should not be allowed to continue to live in such pain.UPDATE: Display faded to black. No longer useful.

It's alright
The look is sleek, contemporary and it's affordable. The warming plate get way too hot which alters the flavor of the coffee. The lid to the basket will not stay up when you are trying to put coffee grinds into it and sometimes the scale malfunctions. It will not reset when pressing the button rendering that function useless, but when the scale does work it's a decent option; allowing different users brew a consistent flavor of coffee.

Return items.
I'm not happy with this coffee maker. The lid for filter basket does not stay open. Very inconvenient. Also true count is incorrect. I add the coffee as it indicates but it is always to strong even on regular brew. I would like to return it but am not sure how to do it.

Cover does not stay open
Good Machine, however as the reviews.. The flap does not stay up and is very annoying when you have multiple scoops of coffee and it keeps falling down... Yet the one that covers the water.. Stays up?
