Best socks ever!
I had always assumed wool socks would be hot and smothering, but I was very wrong. I tried these at the recommendation of someone who had worn them for over a year and I am pleasantly surprised, and will never go back to regular cotton socks. I am on my feet most of the day at work for 10+ hour shifts, in a variety of environments (law enforcement), and these are by far the most comfortable socks I have ever had. As an added bonus, I no longer get the bunching and slipping inside my boots that I used to get. These socks stay in place all day long. The environment where I live and work is a hot desert climate, where summer temps frequently are above 100, and these socks do a good job of keeping my feet cool and dry.

It's a sock
So I was told by friends about how good these are at resisting odor and are durable for long hikes etc. I took them on a 4 day hike and another 3 day hike and they smelled as bad as any other socks I've ever had. They also were not quick to dry from sweat overnight so were damp when I went to put them back on in the morning. They were comfortable and they were warm and when the day got warm the were not uncomfortably hot. They odor resistance and drying are just not the quality I had hoped for with such an expensive sock.

Durable and Dry
Great socks, warm and keep my feet dry. While i thought I sized them properly, they turned out to be a wee tight in the calf. Not a huge issue, something to note for future purchases.

sock it to icebreaker
Why is it so hard to find wool socks? They are the best in every way - cool when it's hot, warm when it's cold. And no sweaty smell!Icebreaker stuff is always tops and these are no exception. A great general purpose wool sock to use for everything from the office to hiking to skiing. Lightweight but good cushioning where it's needed. Exceptionally good value too.

Icebreaker socks are great.
No odor. Dry quickly. Fabric doesn't pill or fray. Protected feet from sand and water on a recent 18-day trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. I'd recommend 3 pair. One to wear, one to wash and one to dry.

Love these socks
Love these socks. I wear them quite a lot. They do shrink some after many washings.. but still comfortable. They are a little shorter than perfect during the winter, but perfect the other 3 seasons.. and warm all 4.

These are the best socks. Ever.
These are great! They're comfortable, warm, durable, and all around wonderful. The only downside is they make all other socks seem inferior; in comparison, Smartwool feels kinda like burlap sacks!

Top socks
I wear these everyday as an Outdoor Ed teacher, they handle the punishment far better than many more expensive, specialized hiking socks I have tried.
