Excellent for Anxiety Relief and Tasty Too
Kava supplements work well for me when I am having anxiety issues, as does this Yogi Kava Stress Relief tea, which I like very much. I think this tea helps with the anxiety a little quicker than kava capsules. This may be in part simply because of the soothing effect of drinking a warm liquid, but it is not just that; the kava in this tea is definitely effective as well. I've been drinking this brand and variety of tea off and on during times of high anxiety for about 15 years and it always gives me relief. It's a little hard to find in the grocery store now, so I was happy to find it on Amazon. I really like the flavor, which is mainly an anise/licorice type flavor. I'm probably the exception rather than the norm, but anise/licorice is absolutely one of my favorite flavors, so I very much enjoy this tea. If you like or at least don't mind that flavor, you will like this tea.

Helpful for sleep
Sometimes I'm just not sleepy when I have to get up early.. Melatonin makes me restless. Benadryl knocks me out for 16 hours. Sipping a cup of this tea before bed helps me relax enough that I'm usually able to fall asleep.

Works
Kava kava is a well known way to reduce anxiety. In fact, it had enough evidence that a few years ago the Association of Family Care Physician put it as a first line treatment for anxiety. However, they since backed down a little due to reports of kava kava being linked to complete liver failure. While it has been linked to liver failure, it's very rare as kava kava is used many places world wide. They chances are slim. The tea however is good. If the risk is worth the benefit, what better way than to drink a cup of good tea.Pro- good tasting tea- helps with anxietyCon- may have risk of liver failure**Hit helpful if this helped**

The taste is good, but a little synthetic
The taste is good, but a little synthetic. It doesn't taste like a plant root. I tend to prefer loose herbs, but if you're one of those people who don't enjoy earthy tastes in your tea then this will be a good kava option for you. I haven't used it solo enough to accurately observe it's strength or effectiveness. I use it primarily for a nighttime tea combining this, mugwort, and valerian root, and the trio definitely put me to sleep in 5-20 minutes.

Different people, different taste
Personally, I found this tea disgusting. Just the smell of it... it doesn't smell like something you should drink or eat. Others have mentioned "if cinnamon could go bad" and "perfumed plastic" and that's pretty close. I was able to force down about three tiny sips before I just couldn't handle it anymore. Any relaxation the tea might provide would be offset by the stress of drinking something so nasty.However. My husband actually finds the taste decent, and after a full cup of the tea he said he felt a little physically relaxed, though not mentally relaxed. He's not sure if it was a real effect or just psychosomatic, but I guess it's not all bad?

Good tasting tea!
I purchase my fair share of tea and was curious about this one. I've heard Kava Tea would be extremely relaxing. It didn't have as extreme effects as I was expecting. It was a good taste and has minor impacts. If you drink it during something relaxing (watching TV) versus something active it will also have different impacts. Try it out!
