Yes, there is a temperature gauge on top.

What makes this model different from the other model with 4 small casters and the cabinet style doors on the front? This one is ~$150 cheaper... why?

I really don't know. But often they are slightly smaller and the material is not of as good a quality. This one is truly worth the price and durable. I had an older model in the past and this one has proven to be of just as good in quality.

Expect this to last 2 years

We bought this identical model when a Sears store closed two years ago. The supports that hold the burners rusted off. We decided that for the price we'd just get the identical model again. Before I assembled it I spray painted those brackets with High Temp paint. Not sure if it'll work, though. Everything else about the grill is pretty good for the price.

Grill Gas Elements Completely rusted not even a year

Not worth the money the elements completely rusted off got one grill season off this pricey grill. The assembly was difficult as well. Disappointed in the quality of Kenmore I expected more.

seems like good quality, pretty tough to assemble... you'll want a screw gun !!!
