Excellent bit of kit
I bought this bit of kit five years ago,put it together, put it on my shed, and apart from changing batteries it hasn’t faulted once, just keep doing it’s thing regardless of weather conditions, I’m expecting it to fail any time, but no,it just keeps going, splendid piece of kit, bought it in 2016, and it’s now 2021, just had to make this comment,

alternative to batteries
I've had 3 of these units over the past 8 years... they are not infallible, ok for the price, reason I opted for this particular system was purely for the USB socket, allowing direct connection to my computer to download and keep the data in files for my spreadsheets.I too, like others highlighted issues with batteries, there was a unit acquirable that had a solar charger for a rechargeable battery, my 2nd unit had that but it too failed. So my solution was to buy an ordinary simple AC to multi output dc power supply 3v,6v, 9v, set it to 3v (= 2x 1.5v batteries), it came with various connectors, (which allowed me to connect my bell cable),I also bought about 5m of ordinary light duty doorbell cable, handily one side had a white line to differentiate over the length which would be + and which would be - ),I also bought about 5m of plastic piping, the sort used for watering gardens, just for the cable protection across the garden.I then soldered two small lengths of cable to the + and the - plates in the transmitter unit for outdoors and screwed them into a small connector block that would fit in the battery area.I then threaded the bell wire through the garden watering pipe that I laid from my house to the transmitter unit (this is solely to protect this lightweight cable) and connected it MAKING SURE + to + and - to - (getting it wrong wont destroy or ruin the transmitter, just means it wont work). This last unit has run now for about 4 years, and no worries about batteries... one thing though, if the household power outs, the unit has to be reset (just like if you removed batteries), it happened once when we went away on holiday for 2 weeks came back and the unit had only recorded indoor readings, all my other stuff had reset (bedroom clock flashing), this is how I found out we had a power outage.. never usually happens. so one thing to look out for. This is no magic solution, just another option possible.hope this has been helpful.

Disappointed
There seems to be a problem with the time on the display. It keeps resetting itself. Too late to return as it’s been fixed up, but not impressed at all, considering how much it cost

Functionality Problems
Superficially, a lovely product and on the whole it is. But!, as other people have recorded, some of the functions don't operate properly, in my case the time. Every time we set it to the correct time it resets to a different time. Shame, lack of attention to quality control spoils what would otherwise be a really nice product.Since writing this, it has stopped working completely and I have tried everything to get it going and have changed all the batteries and reset as instructed. Instructions are really useless so I have thrown the unit away!

A well designed piece of equipment
This is the second type of weather station I have owned and so far I'm impressed. My first one lasted 8 months before the wind speed sensor broke in a storm. The supplier replaced it and the second one last about 4 months and the same part broke, again in a gust of wind. The Watson is a much better design. It's only disadvantage is that mine doesn't seem to measure atmospheric pressure. I thoroughly recommend it - I use it to predict local weather fluctuations and to see what has happened to the weather while I was asleep or away.

Despite resetting the correct time on several occasions it keeps adjusting itself to plus one hour compared to GMT. All other facilities are functioning correctly.
