RBP RBP-6152PL-RX2 Polished Aluminum Locking Fuel Door - Fits: '15 - '18 Ford F-150 (Except Flareside)

Felt obligated to write review because there were none at the time of product purchase and I base a lot of my final purchasing decisions on the reviews by you fine folks (thank you all). My turn to contribute. So the reason it gets 2 stars....First, very solid construction, as a replacement door it clips perfectly on fuel door arm and shuts just as well. Powder coating is flawless. The product really does scream quality. Second, as far as i am aware of (after hours and hours of googlin) this is the ONLY option available at the time of purchase, to secure your fuel tank on a 2016 F-150. Never bothered to look at that before i bought the truck. Just assumed a locking fuel door was standard these days (zero stars for Ford). The other reasons why it only got 2 stars.....the actual fuel door you receive is not like the picture posted here on Amazon (not your fault Amazon...much love) OR on RBP's website. Not cool. I will post picture of the one you do get (I did plasty dip my door because the allen screws are stainless like the picture here). Another reason is that it barely locks, even though 2016 is listed as compatible per RBP's website, the one piece replacement door cover uses a small barrel lock with a tab on it that swings under the yellow capless fuel tank component. I do not know if the 2015 system is a little different but i had to bend the locking tab in order to get it to engage "properly" as the install guide they sent with the product is only for a 2015 Ford (picture posted). With medium finger pressure you can pop it open. Left a voicemail with RBP about all this. They never responded. With all that being said I kept it, plasty dipped it and threw it on because something is better than nothing when you have a 36 gallon extended range fuel tank. You can do the math if someone ever got me for a full tank. Ford assured me it is extremely difficult to siphon gas, as a special funnel is needed to access the tank for manual fills.....that comes with every Ford vehicle with this set up.....that can be purchased at any Ford dealership across the country (I'm guessing you can figure out how hard it is to get a hold of one). And if someone really wanted to introduce foreign materials into the tank i don't think it would take much effort. Hope this helps. If you are reading this, and you are one of those folks who rely heavily on product reviews, and still haven't written one yourself (like me until now) Just take the time and DO IT. 2015 F150 Lariat, FX4, Sport, Max Tow, 3.5L EcoboostAbsolutely a Great addition to my custom build.I originally thought these wear expensive so I put off purchasing for a couple months. I've seen similar ones that wear cheaper but didn't look as good. I decided to pull the trigger and so happy I did. Great quality. Not plastic like OEM. Easy to install but I concur with other reviews that it's hard to slide on. Be careful not to force it on in a way that the swing arm can be broken (its plastic). The cost to replace the swing arm is significant. It comes with detailed instructions for install and more importantly, how to adjust the locking mechanism.Will revisit my review after time to address the visual impacts of aging as reviewed by previous customers. I'm located in Sunny California and will see how heat and rain affects its surface area over time. It doesn't get very cold her during Winter so not sure how much impact Winter will have. One 4 season year will tell.

I bought this for my 2016 F150 King Ranch because there’s no Ford or after market locking gas cap for cap less gas filler and this is the next best option. It may not prevent fuel theft but I like the look, the durability and it will work as a deterrent. Installation was not as easy as I’d expected. It was a little tough getting it to lock in place as the factory door. But with much patience and perseverance completed it in 30 plus minutes. A little pricey too. Otherwise, I would rate it a 5 star.

Looks awesome. Fit was incredibly tight, had to tap it on with a hard plastic mallet (minus one star). Hopefully it will last because I don’t know how I’ll get it back off but not too worried about it. Again, looks awesome!!Edit: Looked good for a while. Picture is what it looks like 18 months later.

I like the look, I have a 2016 and the lock wouldn’t work hit a thing inside so I just removed the locking part of it no biggie

I have giving three stars because I had to modify the locking latch. The installation was very easy and looks great but remember that you will need to modify the latch. I installed this cover on a 2018 F150.

Looks good. Horrible fit and had to bend the tab to even get it to lock !Its one of the only options to get locking the gasToo expensive for what it is and how it fits and works !!

Fitment is a little off as it doesn't curve like the factory fuel door. The lock had to be adjusted to slip under the lip of the easy fuel top but that seems to be a common issue, I still bought it. Build quality is fantastic and it looks really good on the truck.
