I would rate 10 stars if I could
This is a must have product for any macbook owner. It virtually turns your macbook into a media ceneter anywhere you want it. I own two myself and have no regrets in purchasing this dock as I have there are no other docks as seemless as this one. Some great features mentioned below:PROS:1) 100% dockable with no extra wires to connect once docked. Once docked, wake anywhere with your keyboard. The dock clicks in place so you know its docked. Very good feature as I have never had a miss in thinking the mac was docked etc.2) Ergonomic and saves space all while perfectly matching the silver macbook.2a)Cable management, all wires are wrap tied and tucked very good cable management3) Works fine with my invisible shield full body protector with no ill effect4) All ports are accessible including the sd card slot with exception mentioned in negatives. Burner burns while docks and plays movies without issues.5) Cheaper than buy mac mini and priced very well compared to $200-$300 docks thats require manual connections once docked.6) Thunderbolt cable fits, but I dont know if it works with their adapter. I cant lose thunderbolt because I use it as a display port to hdmi in both rooms. I havent personally tried with a thunderbolt monitor as my intentions were not meant for this, but I'm sure someone can use it that way. Works great with my big screen 60" in living room and 37" incher in bedroom.7) People said it got loose over time and usage, I have not experienced that at all. After the initial install, I tighened a tad bit more and never had issues. Plus I use this thing to death and never once did the connection come loose. I did not need to overtighten either and have not experienced cracks like others have due to misuse.Negatives:1) You must buy a couple more of their connections depending on your application. My moshi hdmi adapter purchased from the apple store does not work, hengedocks states the apple dvi adapter works but I havent personally tried it so I cant comment. I had to purchase the extension via hengedock website which arrived in less than 3 days. I also needed to purhase the firewire800 extension and I could not find a generic one anywhere else. This was needed in order to connect my external hard drive as the included cable only has a male connection. My hard drive uses it's own connection, so with the purchased extension from henge docks, I was able to have a open female port to connect any firewire devices. I also connect my apple isight via this cable when necessary as it is using a firewire 400/800 male adapter this was definitely needed becase you cant use your camera while mounted.2) You can never open the macbook while docked3) You can inset an sd card easily by lifting the docked macbook and going from under to slip in the memory card, however there is a shape cut out to fit the sd card and comes down inches so while you can push a card in while docked, it is nearly impossible to remove it unles your using tweezers. Not really big of an issue, but wish that got rid of the cable so people like me could at least add/remove when needed. This isnt enough to bring down a point as the only memory card I use is for pictures and in that case I can use one of the usb ports with my sd card usb adapter.4) You need extra adapters, I purchased extra adapters so I wont need to remove when I travel with the macbook and/or use it outside the dock.5) As far as scratches I havent noticed any that are obvious only minor ones from wear and tear and honestly I cant even tell if there are any at all. This might however effect some people who are worried to ding their macbooks.6)) I havent noticed any heat issues even when my macbook was docked transferring/downling files days even weeks at a time. People state macs arent supposed to run closed, but while closed the intake/exhaust is still opened through the back. This doesnt worry me at all, I would worry more about leaving a mac on the carpet.Overall great purchase. I hope hengedocks continue to make more products for future macs. I will continue to support them. They also have a clique trackpad/keyboard connector which is also great. Look out for my review on that as well.

Good Enough
The product works as advertised but the setup was a headache. And the assembled product does not have a very solid feel to it. I'll put it this way, this dock is the least polished and sturdy item in my entire computer configuration. I worry that extended use might be hard on the laptop casing and connectors.Back to more concrete complaints there are sleep/wake issues involved in the entire setup that, while cannot be blamed on the manufacturer, would also not be an issue if not using this dock. Macs sometimes have issues coming out of sleep mode and the only way to power on the machine is to remove it from the dock. Finally, the assembly requires that you connect your power cord to the dock with a screw, which also means that you have to unscrew it every time you want to take the power cord somewhere. That all being said, the dock still works, looks fairly nice, and keeps my macbook closed and safe from harm.

Good dock
I just received this docking station today, and I've set it up with my Early 2011 13" MacBook Pro and used it for about an hour.INSTALLATIONThe package comes with everything you need, except for a power adapter and a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter. Henge Dock recommends that you buy either their own DVI adapter or Apple's to ensure a correct fit, but that's unnecessary. I can verify that this adapter (Mini DisplayPort to DVI-I Female Adapter for Mac) fits, and is much cheaper ($5 vs $25-30 as of this writing). The package comes with adapters that work with all MagSafe versions. As of September 2011, the close up picture of the docking ports is incorrect. This model is compatible with an Early 2011 13" MacBook Pro.Installation is relatively easy: all you have to do is choose the cables you needs and secure them in places with the included screws. I found it was easiest to install the cables while the computer is in the dock, so they're at the correct depth for a good fit. It's also best to install the minimum number you need, since that makes docking/undocking easier.Note: your cables *will* get an unsightly dent on one side after you install them. This isn't a big problem since most of them are included, but if you have an expensive Mini DisplayPort adapter you want to keep in good shape, I wouldn't use it in this dock.USEDocking and undocking are fairly easy, but not as easy as I'd hoped. To dock, you have to carefully lower the laptop in and give it a firm final push to make the connections. To undock, you have to hold the docking station down and give the laptop a firm pull. I suppose there's not a lot Henge Dock could do about this, because it's Apple's connectors that require that force, but I'm still uncomfortable with the force I have to use.The dock itself is pretty unobtrusive and takes up little desk space. You can easily hide it behind a monitor. While it looks a little ungainly, I don't have any worries that it will tip over. The base is quite stable.FINAL THOUGHTSI'm happy with it so far. I really wish it was easier to dock and undock. If Henge Dock can do something with the included cables to make them require less force, that would really improve the product. Four out of five stars.

Incredibly Misleading
The "Henge Dock" is actually nothing but a piece of plastic. You've essentially just paid $65 for a custom piece of plastic, two USB cords, a firewire cord, an audio cord, an ethernet cord and 7 screws. That's it. That's all you bought. For the record, a usb cord is like $3x2 = 6, firewire $5, audio free (I'm not joking they typically just charge you for shipping and make money that way), and ethernet cord is what a dollar? I'll let you do the math, but that's a lot of money for some plastic. And better yet if you buy the standard minidisplay port cord online, it doesn't fit in the henge dock because the square in the bottom is too small. I could understand if this thing were $25 and at Wal Mart, but for $65 it's a hulking pile of crap.

Ich bin zufrieden !
Also ich weiß nicht was andere mit dem Produkt für Probleme haben ... Statische Aufladung...

For the price, absolutely brilliant
At home I use an external monitor, keyboard and also plug in ethernet as well as various peripheral devices and was fed up of attaching a multitude of cables so decided to look for a docking station. Not wanting to spend much having just purchased a mbp (2010 model), an external monitor and set up a media network, henge dock seemed the only feasible product. My only advanced reservation was whether I would have any problems getting the cable ends to insert into their ports. Thankfully the dock is well designed and the cables are securely fixed in place meaning I have to apply very little pressure to dock my mac. This is an important consideration with docking as I have had experience of ports being damaged by a poor docking unit. I do not forsee any such problems here. The henge dock is a little fiddly to set up but is a very slick and robust piece of kit and makes my office look less cluttered. After just a few weeks of usage I would be lost without it. I strongly recommend it.Warning: Cables are permamently attached. The package includes 2 usd cables, a cat6 ethernet port and an audio jack but you will have to purchase an Apple mini display port adaptor (not the generic ones as these do not fit) as well as a spare power cable (the old shape one - these are available on Amazon). Although I could knock 1/2 a star off the rating for the dock not being able to use the new mag-safe power cable I will not as I am overwise very very impressed.Oh forgot to mention, the packaging is up to the Apple standard which is always a joy.

Correcto
