Lazy Hill Farm Designs 999131 Natural Cedar Post and Brackets, 4-Inch Diameter by 104-Inch Tall (Discontinued)

I understand that this is a natural wood product and that some minor hair cracks are likely to occur, but the first pole I ordered had significant cracking running up the pole all the way through to the heartwood. the crack was over 1/4" wide in places, which not only was unsightly but I can't imagine it lasting long when exposed to the weather and insects. it otherwise had a nice rustic look to it on the parts that had no cracking. after returning the first pole, I received the second and it was way WORSE than the first. the crack ran the entire length of the pole, on the same plane and cut all the way to the heartwood. the top profile resembled a pac-man shape. i am going to try one more time, and if in fact the third also has crack(s)of such significance that I can only assume this is an inherent part of the product that is unfortunately not honestly declared in the description. for 100 dollars plus express shipping (ha!), i spent 132 dollars, missed presenting the gift on fathers day and still have no resolution. needless to say, but not a recommended product at this point (all for a stinking wood pole). by the way, it's impossible to reach a human to describe the problem and ensure I don't get the same defect. amazon needs to work on the return format!!

I LOVE this!!! It arrived with 3 of the perches broken which we glued but it's still fabulous
