Basketball Break (Sports Illustrated Kids: Starting Line Readers 1)

Bought this for my 5 year old son who loves basketball.

My grandson is just starting to read so this is a book that he can read himself and it keeps his interest

Cute book and fun pictures

My son was able to relate to the story. When he went to his next basketball practice, he encouraged his teammate to pass the ball, and he passed the ball to his other teammates, not the same person all the time. Plus, he was very successful at reading the book. Simple sentences and repetition.

This book is good for early readers. It is very simplistic, but my 3 year old loves it!

I can’t say enough about these books. My kindergartener is just learning how to read. These are developmentally appropriate for beginning readers and simultaneously have entertaining storylines with great lessons. SO much better than all the other level 1 reading books out there!

My three year old loves this book!

This is a first reader. Unlike the soccer and baseball ones, this book is not silly. It focuses on remembering to pass the ball. I am not sure how effective it was at getting that message across. Preferred the soccer and baseball ones.
