A must have gimbal for gopro hero 5 or 6 users
This is a great gimbal. I also have the Zhiyun Rider-M which I use it solely with my GoPro Session 4. The Hohem XG1 gimbal's advantage is the fact that you can continuously have it charged through an external battery while using it. I have a 10k mAH external battery with 2 usb ports and I have one port dedicated to the XG1 charging and the other port to charge the GoPro Hero 6 simultaneously. It does it's job and everything comes out smooth as butter. I love the versatility of wearable gimbals to the traditional pole styled gimbals.

Junk
Sent from WebbyThis this was very hard to get to connect to my Bluetooth on 2 different phones. (same results each attempt)When it finally did connect. It had to be calibrated each time.Took it to Canada with me for a mountain biking trip. ( Had high hopes of some great GoPro footage. ( WRONG )Finally got it to connect on my 2nd day and several attempts later. It started out great but,, when crazy only after a few minutes of starting down the trail. ( Very very disappointed when I looked down and seen my GoPro looking up at me instead of the trail ahead ) I've had it too long now to return it I guess. So,,,, now I'm stuck with a $150.00 piece of junk ! I just returned from my trip 9-8-18 Purchased it first part of July with no time to really try it out before my trip. Very Very disappointed with this gimble and with Amazon for not allowing more time to make a return.Save your $150.00 and put it towards a more reliable brand.

Not recommended for twisty, rooty, rocky trails.
I’m very disappointed with this item. I figured I’d buy this instead of the new GoPro 7. Unfortunately I am not happy with it and now I’m stuck with it because the return policy elapsed yesterday. Yup yesterday. I tried giving it a second chance after my first ride it wouldn’t stay centered. Once I hit a root section in our trail, the XG1 lost its mind and wouldn’t return. I tried recalibrating it. Once I did that it wouldn’t connect to my Bluetooth via I-phone or I-pad. It seemed like it was working ok so I gave it another chance today 11-4-2018 and it did exactly the same thing. I’m stuck with it unless Amazon does something about it. I cannot cannot recommend this to anyone. I’m seriously bummed. Construction is great. Looks great. But not reliable or stable at all.

Right Choice
One reason to resort to a gimbal for this camera (and most other action cameras) is because the maximum resolution and frame rate supported by its integral stabilization is 1080p/60fps, even though the camera can do higher resolutions, topping out at true 4K/30fps.I chose this particular gimbal over more conventional gimbals with the "broomhandle" configuration because I primarily intend to wear the whole apparatus on my person, either on a shoulder mount or on a head strap.I have had the opportunity to test it worn on the head strap, and I'm happy to say that it's surprisingly comfortable and manageable, even though the camera sits up slightly above the top of my head with it oriented with the base sitting level, which allows the most possible movement for the gimbal to operate.Okay, on with the details of the gimbal package and how to operate the gimbal.Even the box that the whole thing comes packaged in is nice, rigid cardboard with a hinged lid, and you get (of course) the gimbal itself, a USB charging/data cable, a T-type connector (GoPro adapter) plate, two screws for said adapter plate, a high quality Allen wrench for the screws for the adpater plate, and a really nice zippered carrying case with both a belt loop and a removable (with clips) shoulder strap. Also included in the package is one item that I would strongly advise anyone who buys it to avoid losing: The instructions printed on a single piece of poster board. The gimbal itself supports most conventional cameras, including the likes of the Yi, SJCAM, and GoPro, and the first thing you'll need to keep in mind when mounting your camera to it is to orient the camera so that the pivot point for the tilt axis does not block the USB port and SD card slot so that you won't need to detach the camera from the gimbal each time to download your footage.
