There is clearly less foam around the ear pads than the original Sony pads however the speaker is now closer to your ear, so I believe the volume level is higher than original. They are a little difficult to get on and expect to pull the pads almost violently to get them on. However, with the small crowbar tool that comes with them, you could finesse the pads into the groove. My noise canceling seems to work better with a new pads than the old ones, however, the old ones were very worn which I’m sure was causing sound to come around and into my ear.

I love them, easy installation, great value, and super confortable. They look good and sound improved when I put them.

These are very comfortable and are easy to install. They do not carry as tight a fit as the original on my Sony WH-CH710N headphones. However, they have extended the life of the product and I do find that they are very comfortable on my ears. I just got hearing aids and they even fit over them without discomfort. I'm not sure the original would do that. However, I do not feel they block out the same amout of background noise. I notice it mostly on airplanes, where I use them the most.

These new earpads rejuvenated my beloved SONY noise cancelling headphones. The dirty, crushed, and disintegrating original ear pads get replaced with these perfectly shaped ear pads. The color of these pads matches the headphone frame and they fit perfectly. A supplied plastic tool helps with the slightly challenging replacement process.
