Well worth the money
This is a really useful tool if you want to repair tool batteries. I have had no problem spot welding using its variable strength/depth/bite control.

Pleasantly surprised
Good bit of kitI’ve had a few hobbie spot welders this seems to be the best I’ve had yet .the probes and wires seem to be good grade and well made.Used .10 pure nickel and it produced a good weldyour not going to be able to build big batteries in one sitting but none of the rechargeable welders will . But for repairs small batteries or slow build bigger batteries I think this is a good bet

Rescued an old appliance
Took advantage of a Black Friday offer and got one of these spot welders.I had an old gtech extending hedge trimmer that they no longer supply a battery pack for and so ordered 10 × Sub C NiCd Batteries SC 1.2V 1800mAh Ni-Cd Rechargeable Batteries from Amazon to replace those in my existing pack.On taking the battery pack apart was dismayed to find they don't sit in a spring loaded casing like regular batteries but need to be permanently joined in series , by metal strips.I had the metal strips but despite many attempts with super glue and solder (not recommended) nothing would stick and so the new batteries and the dismantled battery pack have lingered in my garage for 6 months.Anyway on receiving my new little spot welder had a go last night. Charged up the unit until all the indicator bars stopped flashing and had a practice on some of the old batteries with bits cut off from the metal strip. Then came to try and weld together the new batteries into the pack .Very fiddly as there were 3 rows of 3 batteries within cardboard sleeves plus a tenth battery on it's own so about 20 plus welds to do in confined space.Luckily it's like holding a pen so you have a free hand to place the strip on the battery terminal.I set it to auto and tried various angles and various strengths of weld until I got a good contact . A bit hit and miss, some took 2 or 3 attempts before success and still not sure what optimum strength should be dialled in.An evenings work but have now got a working extending hedge trimmer back from the dead.I must have dozens of different tools and appliances that use rechargeable batteries now so this handy welder will hopefully pay for itself.Had an informative email from the supplier about the welder before receiving my package which shows good customer care.

Excellent price of kit
Very easy to use, works well on the first couple of tests on both the supplied 0.1 nickel plated strips and 0.15 nickel strips. A good weld in both cases with gear 5 and gear 7 used respectively. Very pleased with the welder

Why didn’t I have this before!!
Excellent bit of kit. Used it several times now with really pleasing results. Charge first before using. Definitely need a good test run on some old batteries, and write down the settings for what your doing then you can refer back to them. No more burnt plastic cases or poor soldering joints. Very pleased, wish I had one years ago!

Terrible!
The product broke. Again!Last time it wouldn't recharge. This time the little button on the side got pushed in. (Worked fine when i got it but not on second time)So it is stuck on auto. This is clearly not a well made product so was grateful that I was able to return it (for the second time) for a full refund even though I had had it for a few days longer than the normal return period of 30 days

This DIY battery spot welder is great.
It's a one hand operation. Just leave it set to auto.no messing around. It does exactly what it says it can do. What more can I say.I've replaced batteries in my shaver, torches, hot glue gun etc etc. Excellent 👍
