Works Great, Must Be on a Flat Surface
Worked well for what I needed. I have a flotation waterbed and the guys who installed it said I didn't need a heater because of the pillow top. I've had that bed for about 17 years. One day I went to change the sheets and I noticed it was wet under the mattress. It covered every square inch of the liner. So I drained the bed as best as I could and dragged that mattress off the bed, thru the bedroom, down the hallway, thru the garage and out onto the driveway to drain the remaining water so I could throw it away. Must have weighed almost 200 lbs because I had no way to get all the water out. And thru all that dragging, there wasn't a single drop of water on the floor or anywhere on the mattress. There was nothing wrong with that mattress, but I couldn't reuse it because by then with all that tugging and pulling and dragging, I had completely ripped all the polyester inside the mattress to shreds. So I did some research and I think that wetness was due to condensation. We have really hot summers in Sacramento (over 100) and maybe it was the combo of the hot air and cold water that caused it. So, I bought this heater to regulate the temperature. I can't stand a hot waterbed so I have it set to 72. Now that it's cold at night (by Sac standards, low 40's ), I do notice the bed is warmer and not ice cold like it used to be. So I'm hoping I'm not going to have any more moisture issues some summertime. However, I had to MacGyver a board to put the heater on. My foundation has wooden slats and a lame cardboard top. Perhaps that's why the hot Sac air got to the mattress. No insulation. So with those wooden slats, there was sagging between each slat and you can't place the heater on that kind of surface. It needs to be completely flat. So I went to Home Depot and bought one of those Rubbermaid particleboard bookshelves because my only piece of scrap plywood wasn't long enough. I cut a section of the old waterbed mattress and wrapped that shelf with it so there wouldn't be any rough edges. Then I Gorilla taped it on. (Man, that is some AWESOME tape!) Then I put the heater on it and taped the corners of the heater where there are no wires in the carbon fiber, to the board so it wouldn't slip. I put the heater on top of the liner and then the mattress on top of the heater. Bob's my uncle. By the way, as long as you're reading this, let me give you a very helpful hint because I didn't discover this until after I filled up the new mattress with water. On those foundation mattresses, only fill up the mattress so it's even with the tops of the soft-side frame. I overfilled mine and ended up doing 3 separate draining sessions in an attempt to lower the level. I have it close, but it needs another one. Good luck.

Maintains Waterbed Termperature exactly where I want it
The hardest part wast disassembling and reassembling the waterbed. I expected the heater tot take a minimum of 24 hours to warm a King size waterbed and this was approximately how long it indeed took. I am hoping this will be the last one I shall ever need as my experience has been these last a minimum of 10 to 12 years.

Waterbed heater failed
Purchased two (2) heaters. Used twice and both failed within 6 months. Followed troubleshooting tips, no idea where reset button is (unless it’s where it says if you open this you’ll void warranty, great). Didn’t really want to give a bad review, but they are not responsive to getting in touch to assist with direct troubleshooting. I’m still hopeful.

eh, it's a waterbed heater
I bought this as a replacement that I had purchased 3 years ago and it stopped working. When I called the 800 number they suggested I buy the one with the 5 year warranty. I looked at the warranty info and it only covers 100% for 3 years then a percentage is owed for replacement, making replacement (if necessary, who knows maybe my 1st one was a dud) almost the same price as buying the less expensive model. The original heater that I replaced 3 years ago was 30+ years old and was working fine I just thought as long as I'm replacing the mattress I might as well update the heater, if I hadn't have tossed it with the old mattress this review would be much less friendly.Let's hope that I won't be writing a review for the same product in 3 years

Installation went well.
Installation went well. We fill with cold water and the mattress temperature was up to 92 in two days.

Gets the job done... working fine so far.
I've had this about 2 months so far.I messed up at first, and filled the king-size bed with cold water. It took five days for this heater to get the water up to the right temperature. But after that... it's worked fine.I've gone though about 10 heaters, by different brands. Often, they would fail in the first week. Not nearly as many brands are still available -- this looks like a good one.Recommended.

Warm and cosy
Purchased a new soft side waterbed and decided to add a heater before filling it up. This was easy to install. We decided to put it on a timer so that it only runs during the day. I have absolutely no concerns about electro magnetic radiation but my wife does. The timer eliminated that issue.Really, this heater just does the job, keeps the bed at the correct temp, no fuss. Price seemed good, The control was easy to use.

Keeps the bed warm.
This was easy to install, except for having to drain the bed, but of course you have to do that anyway. Quality seems to be good. It keeps my king-size bed warm with just one heater. As long as it keeps doing what it’s doing, I will be happy with it.
