BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer, Electric, 14-Inch (BESTE620)

This is a basic line cutter /weed whacker, but it performs, at least for me, thus far, like what pros use. I had some medical rehab issues and couldn't cut or maintain my back yard and it quickly got out of hand in the heat and heavy rains in the upper Midwest this year. My yard was grossly overgrown with 12+ inch weeds, weeds with branches(!), weed laden grasses 8+inches in my small patch of backyard lawn, unkempt bushes, and a fruit tree with fronds overgrown so much its overhanging was touching the ground and and weeds 8 - 12inches dominating my brick tile patio. This little baby wrecked the weeds completely. I didn't even need the mower for the small lawn area (grass area is about 10ft by 25ft)... It trimmed my lawn neatly and efficiently..It cut all the weeds to the ground flush. Only one tree like weed needed to be cut manually with shears. Everything else was done by the Black and Decker string trimmer, even the tree fronds!It's powerful enough to do areas magnitudes larger than my small yard, it. It doesn't get bogged down or overheated from having to cut thru thick, heavy grasses or fat 6ft tall sunflowers or gnarly patches of fat grass & clusters of dandelions. It just tears thru it all like butter! Yup, like butta!it's lightweight. And adjustable to your height and comfort, so it's easy on your back. It's handle is comfortable and perfectly placed for navigating the area you want to cut with accuracy.It's line feed button works perfectly when you need fresh line, so you don't have to stop cutting or bend over or get your hands dirty. Simply push the button and it releases a little more line as you cut. It cut thru the tree fronds almost as easily as it turned weeds into mulch.It's a great little line cutter and well worth the 50 dollar price point. If you have a small yard or you just need to cut weeds, you don't need more power or more features. Just remember, it's not as accurate or as neat as other methods. It's a blunt tool, but it works for just cutting down overgrowth or creating a path. Don't forget to wear work gloves and safety glasses (Black and Decker has smoked lens & even mirrored lens 😎 goggles! Oh, DO NOT wear shorts when you use this thing! Ow! It sends debris flying!

I had one of these before it lasted about 4 years. I did work it hard. I love these weed eaters. So easy to put together with just one screw, took two minutes and it was ready to go. I tried the battery ones but the battery would run out of juice before I was done and I would have to wait for it to charge. With the corded one I don't have to worry about that. The string is easy to replace when out. The edging feature means I don't have to get the edger out and mess with multiple pieces of equipment. I love this weed eater. It adjusts from my height use to my husband's In just seconds. Great product for the price, and the replacement strings are every reasonable.

A couple spots looked like they had been used before (see photos). When I first started to use it the feed didn’t work, but I *think* it is working now (because of a healing injury I can only use it for short periods). I am still working on adjusting height and handle (I have short arms), but so far it seems to work well. I think the few issues I had were user error(learning ops.

Pros:1. This weed eater as we call it here in Texas is amazing, its strong, easy to use and light weight.2. The wheel helps alot to have that perfect edge as if it were an edger,3. the guard prevents rocks and grass from hitting you directly.4. Self feeding string, just presss the button and voila! more string comes out.5. comfortable grip and ease of use.Cons:1. its Corded got my extension cord wrapped first time using it and that can be dangerous with a live current, thankfully I wasn't electroctued but still.2. Would be perfect if it was cordless, YES I KNOW THOSE EXIST WITH OTHER BRANDS, but I don't need a full size one for my small lawn.3. length, I am 6 foot and i have to bend over somewhat to properly use it, I really wish it extended longer for safety and for us taller guys.4. The amount of string it takes (the cartridges can be purchased here on amazon) is very little, its almost using 1 every 2 uses on your lawn.Would definietly recommend it to anybody wanting it for a small lawn, but would not recommend for somebody on a big plot of land or a farm unless you have a 100 foot extension cord,

I love my new string trimmer; it is so easy to push the button once or twice to release more string. The string doesn't break every 5 minutes like my last one did, it is very easy to use.

Lo primero es la.potencia...de este aparato. Ya después de 20 años de usar wiras de gasolina .y batallar con el encendido preparar la mezcla el Aditivo etc. . Pues la wira eléctrica es una Maravilla . Muy comoda.. muy recomendado.

Facile d'utilisation.

The description says that the Easy Feed button "allows you to Advance your line with the push of a button".Not really !! From the description I assumed that the button actually caused the string to advance.After this trimmer was delivered I discovered that all that the button does is turn the power off while the button pressed, and allows the AFS (auto feed system) to let out a bit more string. I.e. momentarily pressing the button does EXACTLY the same thing as momentarily releasing the run trigger. As a matter of fact releasing the trigger momentarily is easier and less awkward.So the button adds no additional feature but they charge an additional $57 for the "do nothing" button when compared to the identical trimmer without the button.When I discovered this I decided to return it and get the less expensive and basically identical model. I requested to return the trimmer twice and the message from the vendor said that they would advise within 48 hours how to return. They didn't !! Both times they simply cancelled the return request.I hate being ripped off but it looks like they have done that to me and I'm stuck with it.Don't make the same mistake. Buy the lower priced model or buy from someone else.
