Excellent, lightweight laying off brush
This thin, fine bristled laying off brush is ideal for getting a professional looking, hand painted finish. The handle is a plain wood finish, smoothed but not varnished or lacquered. It comes in a small, flexible plastic pouch. It's important to note this brush shouldn't be used for actually applying paint. You'd typically do that with an appropriate roller or paintbrush to get an even application of paint. This brush is used to 'lay off' that coat.Being lightweight means it is not too tiring on the wrist when in use. Being thin is doesn't pick up too much paint.

Laying off brush, not paint brush...
First of all this is a laying off brush, not a general paint brush for emulsion or gloss work. It is used to improve the finish of your work once the paint is already on the wall or more usually trim. It is quite light with a thinner level of brush than a standard paint brush. The bristles are lighter, creating less visible brush strokes on your finish than with a standard paint brush that you would use to apply paint. I found it good for window sills/boards and door facia trim. It does work, albeit, with a little attention, but it is not necessary to do this unless you are looking to improve the standard of your work or looking for a more professional finish.

Smooth finish
So you can use a roller or a brush to apply your oil based paint then run through it a couple of times with this laying off brush for a nice flat smooth finish. No brush lines or orange peel from the roller. Perfect.

Nice brush but dries out quick
Nice brush for laying off on wood, but bristles go hard after just a couple of uses.

Works Really Well!
Never been able to get a decent finish with water based gloss until now. Dampen the brush before use and lay off with light even stokes and leave. Don't go over and over the work, one or two passes should be enough.Had really good results on larger areas using a high density foam roller to apply, then brushing as above.
