Use much earlier
In my experience I capture lots of moths from late March onwards. May is much too late here, and this could explain why some people get disappointing results.

Easy to use and effective
The plum moth trap refill is a cost-effective means of control of this pest. Unfortunately no pheromone system is going to eradicate the plum moth problem completely, but this one is easy to use and should reduce the infestation significantly. It probably needs putting out a bit earlier than suggested, but this may be weather-dependent. With care, the "tent" that it sits in will last several years, so the refill is all that is required.

These plum moth traps are excellent for trapping the moths that ruin the first cropping ...
We have two heavy cropping Victoria plum trees. These plum moth traps are excellent for trapping the moths that ruin the first cropping off our plum trees.Biting into a plum with a maggot in it is disgusting! We have learnt to put them in the trees late in March rather than later as detailed on the packet. We put one trap in each tree even though they are not far away from each other. We did that last year and had hardly any maggots at all. These are the refills. Complete traps need to be bought the first time. They last for years.2010 UPDATE: We put them in the trees 3rd week March and immediately saw many moths in the traps. so we'll put them out even earlier next year.

For me it works
I used this product last year and it worked. Got a good crop without insects ruining the plums. I found it caught a lot of moths. So I decided to go with it again this year. A little bit expensive but as long as I get a good crop then it I guess it will be worth it.
