Works for me
Works well, solid design. Get Home Bag addition. My only complaints are that it has too many parts to lose on the trail, and didn't come with a storage bag. I would have dinged it a star, but it passed a blue dye test. 28mm input threads won't hold a typical water bottle, but I have since learned I am supposed to use a soda bottle because they are rigid and built to contain liquids under pressure. The flimsy type will leak at the threads. I was looking to buy a Trio but that was discontinued. Survivor Filter is basically a Trio (same supplier in China), but it failed my blue dye test. I don't know if that's because Survivor Filter was leaking around the o-rings, or if it has a weaker carbon filter, but the MUV ran clear. The MUV units are self-enclosed, so less to worry about with o-rings. The stage two filter (bacteria) can be replaced. Some folks complain that you have to suck hard to use the filter as a straw, but that's true of any trail filter. They are designed to work under pressure, so attach it to a soda bottle or hydration bladder and squeeze. I'll still use my MSR for backpacking.

best option on the market.
Most overall portable filter on the market. anything you might need covered as far as water filtration goes is covered. Its obviously bigger than a sawyer mini, but it does a better job. You don't have to use all parts at once either. You can use the pieces based on the need at the time.

Good quality and great value
I like that the different types of filters are interchangeable. Water tastes better than the sawyer filter we bought. I will update after a couple months of usage

Great filtration, unworkable connections
I love the independent reviews online for this product. The instructions are quite hard to follow, but are mostly accurate. You just have to read it word by word. The problem I have, that makes the product unusable for my purpose is that I can't find any containers to backpack with, that matches the "28mm threaded water bottle" attachment. I don't really want to tote around a 2L water bottle or pop bottle of any kind. I'd rather have a bag, but I can't find any out there that match any attachments. Also, when I use a water bottle, it's not even close - the threads don't match. With a pop bottle, it matches, but is not tight enough to stop water from squirting out the side if you apply pressure to create flow. The only way it works as a gravity system, is if you use only the active carbon filter (1). Throw on the next filter (2), and it slows to a drop a minute.
