Hyundai HYM460SPR 135cc Self Propelled Petrol Roller Mower Lawn Mower, Blue

Purchased this in April 2018, and worked great in 2018 and 2019. Easy to start, engine runs well and cuts lawn adequately. Roller gives stripes, not the most pronounced but definitely good enough to get that feeling of satisfaction after mowing. Overall build quality is decent, bit plasticky in places, but it is good quality. Had one small bit break in transit, customer service quickly dispatched a new one.I left fuel in it during the winter of 2019 and it clogged up the carburettor, which was my fault. Cleaned it out and running perfectly again. I took a risk on this as it is well priced for the features but obviously the brand is a bit unknown, but more than pleased in terms of value for money.

Initially the mower would not start, this was traced to a fuel tank outlet port blockage (Fuel Tank Moulding Fault). This was drilled through to allow fuel into the carburettor. The mower starts and runs perfectly now, it does what it said on the tin. Pity about the fuel tank quality issue.

Received this just over a year ago.All started well, but within a couple of weeks bits started to fall off and after. months the whole bottom of the mower fell away. Sent back to seller and it was away for 3 weeks.I received it back and it was really loud and engine sounded terrible. That settled down after 30 mins, but again handle was loose and 2 nuts were missing from the handle when it was returned.The stripes are good when it works correctly, but I now have got to try and send it back yet again as it won't start on the start setting which engages the choke. To get the engine to stay on you need to leave it in the start position as soon you engage the run position the engine cuts out.I've looked at the carb and the choke cables and it is very badly built and very cheap component's are used in this mower.I like Hyundai products, in fact I've had a total of 12 Hyundai cars and never had a problem with them, but their mowers I would stay away from. I bought this A/ because of the price and B/ because of the name.Well please save your money for a more expensive one with a better build quality.Lawn mowers arn't made like they used to be and even the more expensive ones are not built to the quality of the older machines, but I've had nothing but trouble with this machine and especially the build quality, the after sales service is not the best either.It's up to you if you want to get this as the price is good compared to quality models but I cut my lawn at least twice a week, and the mower as mentioned is slowly falling apart, beware unless you want high repair bills or have to buy a new one every year or so

Pile of junk. Electric start is a gimmick and packed in within the first year. Save your money and dont bother with the electric start. Throttle cable broke within months. Roller and wheels make a constant grinding noise. Cutting height is too high for a close cut. Engine back fires constantly

Easy to assemble and very easy to use. The motor seems to have plenty of power and it 'self-propels' at quite a good walking pace, which helps to reduce the time needed to mow the lawn, probably by about 50% in my case. I finished my lawn (which is about 15m x 15m) in probably no more than 10 minutes. The write-up from the manufacturer says the rear roller is split to help with turning, and this really does seem to make a difference. Turning was effortless. Very happy with the mower overall and it makes me realise how bad my old one had become. Feels like excellent value for money and I would definitely recommend it.

The mower is quite heavy due to the steel base (I used to have an ALKO with a polycarbonate base which was much lighter and easy to manoeuvre). The self-propulsion is fairly fast paced but okay for - may be too fast for someone who is frail. Mower sometimes leaves a trail of clippings one side of it but I have not figured out what causes this to happen. Certainly if the grass is wet and/or long it will do this but does it on other occasions too. My ALKO also had this problem but I thought after 13 years with better technology/design this would not happen.The blade seems very soft of loses its sharpness quickly and now I have a problem of not knowing which direction to undo the bolt to remove the blade for sharpening (does not say in the manual). Either way it is very tight and won't budge. I understand that the blade on the turns anti-clockwise which normally indicates that the bolt is undone clockwise but not being sure which direction it is undone does not help!

Used it a couple of times and it broke down. Had to pack it up, empty oil and send it back. Charged £70 to put the drive belt back on and it took Hyundai five weeks to do this. Customer service is appalling. The cutting blade has now packed up. This is a heavy bad quality machine and I wish I had spent more money on a decent mower. Avoid at all costs
