Good Front Guard, useless as rear, have spare zip-ties handy.
This works well for a front mud guard on a fat bike, running 4" tires. I noted the dimensions of many similar plastic flexi mud guards, and this one had the longest overall dimension, and I think it was worth the effort to identify that extra length. If you look at tires 27, 27.5, 29, fat, whatever, and note where the mud will likely be spitting up at you, you will quickly recognize that a piece of plastic sticking back 4 or 5 inches from the front fork is not going to keep much of the muck off of you. Mounted properly, this guard gives full 8" of coverage behind the fork. I nicked it one star for two reasons, mainly because 3 of the zip-ties were defective (no "grabber tab" in the slot). I mean, I know it's a cheap product, but c'mon, really? I didn't happen to have any handy, so, with a half complete installation of a twisty piece of plastic, I couldn't use the bike until I went and bought some zip-ties. Second, there is no clarity on this in the description, but it is pretty useless as a rear mud-guard for most bikes (look at the photos other reviewers have posted, where it sits down in front of the rear wheel). 90% of the mud and water has already launched off the tire and up your back before the wheel gets to that position in the rotation. I'll be trying one of the seat mounted guards for the rear. This Fifty-Fifty guard is doing a great job as a front guard for our winter/spring trail conditions in Wisconsin. The fat tires really spit a lot more than traditional mtn bike tires. You get dirty - part of the fun. It's still dirty riding, but I don't have to literally eat the tire spit for the whole ride, as I did without a guard.

Why so expensive?
I bought this for my winter bike (Origin8 Amarok XLT). The idea was more to keep winter salt slush off the bike than to keep it off of me, and it does protect the fork and stem (on the bottom of my stem it is hollow right down thru the fork so road salt and slush can gert up there). For what it is (a small flat piece of bendy plastic and 6 zip ties) it seems quite expensive (I paid 11 bucks with tax).Easy to attach and too bendy to be easy to break. Keep in mind that since it is a flat piece of plastic, you can only bend it in one dimension, so while it curves around the cross section of the tire it does not conform to the curve of the tire radius.

It's so big! Definitely made for disc brake bikes.
I bought a different version of this from a different company a while that came with two instead of one and wasn't too impressed. Those were pretty small. Not this one though! It's definitely a decent size. I agree with another review who put their's on backwards intentionally on the front part of the bike, it definitely covers more to prevent water from splashing into your face.I actually only got this fender because the other front fender that I got doesn't cover any part in front of my bike fork. This was definitely close to ideal. I say "close" because I have v-brakes and these fenders are definitely not made for v-brake systems. Fortunately, my front brakes don't work regardless and since my rear brakes work perfectly and I've never had an issue with stopping, looks like I'm keeping my front brakes broken so I can have a really good front fender system.Highly recommend, especially if you have disc brakes. It's easy to put on, very durable, and decently big.

50-50!
I haven't used this yet because we don't get too much rain here in California, but it is definitely large enough to keep most, if not all mud and slinging dirt from getting to you. Looks cool and has great coverage, and there are 2 markings under the fender in case you want to trim it up. If there is rain coming our way this year you can bet i'll be slapping this on.

Ok
Bought two of these last minute when it looked like the paid for Epic ride coming up was not going to be cancelled, and was going to be muddy. The front provided decent protection. The rear, well I didn’t expect much with how it mounts to the 5010 rear triangle. Might have prevented a little mud from getting to the shock. Each comes with 6 zip ties; I used 4 per. No rubbing or anything.Recommended for an inexpensive option for the front. Not recommended for this type of frame for the rear.

People will say I put the front fender on backwards
But hear me out. It makes more sense like this for my purposes. Also, the writing isn't backwards this way so.. yeah.My mtb serves double duty as a cross country mtb and a commuter. I needed a fender that looks like it belongs on a mountain bike and helps keep nasty city water out of my face during rain storms during rides to and from work.I doubt it would work if facing the other direction. I have ridden in heavy rain and no longer have gross sewer water flying in my face anymore.

Nice fenders
Bought these for my mountain bike, while it will work very well for the front, would have to be twice as long to be effective for the back. But that's my fault, I should have crunched the numbers on the size. But they are very nicely made and easy to install and they look sharp.

Reverse everything and it's better.
This a great lightweight fender.I wanted a non graphic fender so I just flipped it upside down. Mostly it's black and plain. And reversed the fender so the long nose is in the front and not the rear. Keeps more water off my face and mud. The other install procedure is suspect.Great fender though.
