Does this bin need the key to lock or can the bin men lock it after emptying?

Hello, my bin looks just like the ones on the pictures and the lock seems to fit shape wise but I don't see how it stays put or locks?

Is it easy assembly or will I need a drill etc?

There is no assembly. The two parts slide together and hook under the lip under the bin edge and then slides over the lid. You really have to push the top part very tightly over the lid to be able to turn the key. I am very pleased with this item and it has held up well.

I didn’t expect to assemble it myself but only took a moment

Could be forced off if determined. More of a deterrent really. Did the job as it has stopped the phantom bin dumper putting their trash in my bin.
