Using the chain guard requires a chain sized for 9 speed applications
Must be dished inboard to benefit from the chain guard. But it does an excellent job keeping the chain clear of external elements including such things as shifter cables : oDishing the rear sprocket inboard also minimizes chainline (i.e. the distance between the center line of the chain as measured from the longitudinal centerline of the bike). nicely fitted
This sprocket is nicely fitted into the hub. The chain guard is preventing slip and also protect your chain from objects like scraps from the road

Fit my 8 speed Alfine hub great.

Simple, easy to mount and it seems solid so far. I'm using it to convert an 8 speed Alfine hub from belt drive to chain. And it fit straight in there.
