I was torn between one like this, more traditional
I shopped around for so long for a helmet! I was torn between one like this, more traditional, and the newer skateboarder/snowboarder kind that are now becoming popular for bikes. I ended up going with two of these. These tend to come in slightly smaller sizes, and with our 14 month olds on in 50th percentile range for head size, we needed something on the smaller side.Fit-wise? These are great - they fit their heads perfectly, and will grow with them until they are at least two.PROS:- great fit, especially for smaller heads- price... you can't beat it - especially when buying everything in 2s!CONS:- It's bulky! We got the helmets so they could have head protection in our bike trailer, but they are so bulky the girls can't hold their head up straight when sitting in the pull-behind trailer.

Works great, looks comfortable on my daughter
Summary: This helmet works great on my 9 month old daughter who has been in the 70th percentile for head circumference and weight -- 99th percentile for height. The Good:- Adjusting this to get it to fit on my daughters head was as easy as adjusting the nylon strap webbing that goes under the chin.- The back strap of the helmet automatically adjusts to my daughters head circumference and sits not too tight but not too loose.- The strap material is soft, I don't expect that it would cause any skin irritation or abrasion.- The buckle is curved preventing the chin skin from getting pinched.- I have good brand recognition for the "Bell" helmet brand, and trust for the brand.- The padding in the helmet is appropriate, about 1/8th of an inch thick.- Good venting. The Bad:- I have found that the helmet is a bit bulky on the back of her head currently (totally not a health and safety issue), but because of this extra bulk it forces her to look down at a 60 degree angle toward the ground rather than being able to sit at close to a 90 degree angle and look forward. She will grow out of this issue as she gets a bit taller.Other Thoughts: My kid's are sitting in a 2 person mastercycle kid's bike trailer.

Perfect for my 10 month old son
Perfect for my 10 month old son. The strap is adjustable and he should be able to wear it for a while.

Huge, not adjustable
This helmet is an appropriate size for toddlers, not infants. It is basically not adjustable. The only adjustment that can be made is to shorten or lengthen the chin strap. Since the inside of the helmet is way too big to begin with, even tightening the strap as much as possible leaves the helmet very loose. There is an elastic band sewn into the inside part of the helmet that the manufacturer calls "True Fit", which is just a cheap excuse for not putting in an actual size adjuster. Go with Joovy Noodle in size small for infants, it is a much better helmet and fits my 12 month old perfectly.

Disappointingly thin foam pads
I ordered this helmet for my 17-month-old granddaughter as a replacement for one that’s 9 years old from an older grandchild. I felt ok using the old one because it didn’t see a lot of action 8-9 years ago, and current little one didn’t need it for anything other than getting used to wearing a helmet on riding toys. Now that she’s learning to ride a balance bike, I wanted a new one. It’s exactly the same shape and strap set up as older one, which was perfect because it fit well. This new one is very disappointing because the pads are half the thickness of the older one; as a result, it’s far too big. It rolls around on her head and falls in her eyes. She has a large head for her age - 90th percentile - so I can’t imagine it would fit anyone younger. In both helmets, the pads come glued in and have no extra pads to adjust the fit.I can not figure out why they would go with thinner pads.I also don’t like the way Bell attached the tag; the zip tie goes tightly across the forehead pad and through air vent hole. This left a large dent in the pad. They did this in the older one, too, and the foam never completely recover proper shape. Bell could easily have placed the tag around the inner plastic, and done it more loosely so it wouldn’t damage any part.

The back of the helmet makes it hard for her to rest her head comfortably against her seat
14 month old daughter wears this while riding in her bike seat on the back of my bike. The back of the helmet makes it hard for her to rest her head comfortably against her seat, however, taller kids may not have this issue if their head is above the seat back. The buckle is easy to buckle and unbuckle. I do wish it had a little attached visor to help block the sun since my daughter hates to wear sunglasses. Overall, a good purchase.

Great helmet
I was worried this helmet would be uncomfortable for my son but he was OK wearing it! He had it on for 3 hours straight and no whining to have it taken off. The chin strap is designed so that you don't accidently clip your little ones chin so it's perfect.

Perfect fit for my 2yo!
We just bought our her first trike for her second birthday, and I wanted a helmet for her because she is a typical clumsy toddler. I searched the local Walmart and was really unimpressed by the ONE helmet they had for young toddlers/infants, and the price for it wasn’t great either. A quick search on Amazon and I found this one. The little poodle print is so cute and right up my daughter’s alley, it fits her head great, and I really appreciate the pinch guard on the buckle! Overall I’m very pleased I found this helmet!

It’s not pinch proof, and it is heavy for a toddlers neck.
My toddler is a petite girl. She is over a year and a half old. This does. Not fit her head right! When she is sitting inside our bike trailer, the big helmet presses against the back of the seat and when she moves her head up and down to look at me or at her hands, her helmet rides up and pushes down so that the visor covers her vision. She can’t see properly and it weighs her small head down. When she falls asleep in the trailer the helmet is so heavy it looks like her head is going to break off ( graphic I know... but that’s the only way I can describe it)Sometimes if we’re on a good street I’ll take her helmet off if there is no cars... because I feel so bad for her neck. Also it is not pinch proof, as within the first week of riding her chin has MANY bloody scabs underneath it from where the clip had caught skin. Will it save a life? Probably. Unless your child is not strapped into your trailer and gets ejected from the trailer for SOME strange reason ( which is VERY FAR FETCHED...) I’m sure it’s a good helmet but there is no guarantee it is good for your child’s neck unless they are not riding in a trailer.I like the design very much it is very cute.I will be sticking to this one, hopefully she will grow into it soon.

Not adjustable, seems too big for a 1 year old
It says from 1 year but it is big. The part where you would tighten or loosen on an adult helmet is an elastic band instead. And it didn't come with extra inserts to adjust the fit.Quality is good and it looks nice but I'd make sure it fits before buying.

Good
I wish it were manually adjustable for band-size rather than just by elastic but otherwise it's a good helmet. It did take until 18 months for it to fit my 50th percentile son without him wearing a beanie underneath... but I couldn't find any smaller ones anywhere.

Good affordable helmet.
Got it for my 2 year old and it fits just fine. It doesnt have adjustable blackstrap like some more expensive helmets do but its ok, in my case but most likely would be too big for a 1 year old. No pinch clasp is a good idea. Nice and light too.

It has cute pattern, but as it turns out ...
It has cute pattern, but as it turns out, my daughter's head is quite small so the helmet is too big. I ended up purchasing a smaller one at a specialty shop but will keep this one for when she's a bit older.

So cute
We bought this for our 13 month daughter. It's so cute and at first didn't like it but once she was on my bike she was distracted and didn't fight it. The no pinch strap is great. Especially with a squirming baby. For the price it's great

Excellent quality helmet
Fit our two year old perfectly this past summer, and should fit him next year as well. Very durable and easy to put on and adjust.

Great first helmet
Shipping was fast. This fit my two year old perfectly. Of good quality. I like how the buckle won't get child's chin caught in it. And I like the reflectors at the back. Great first helmet :)

Fits well on 3-year-old with average to small head.
We got this for my daughter's 3rd birthday to accompany her scooter, and so far it works perfectly and does not shift around or fall forward while scootering. Of course this all depends on the size of the child's head, and we're lucky it's right between tight and loose.

Cracked after 4 uses
I'm really disappointed to report this helmet cracks really easily. We have had it for a week and used it 4 times. My toddler loves it, and will even wear it walking around the yard. Since it's meant for toddlers, I wold have thought it'd be a bit more durable. Pretty disappointed.

Perfect Purchase
The helmet is exactly as described, arrived quickly, fits as expected. My 2 yr old daughter loves it so much she won't take it off and even wears it around the house.
