Content, but i'll keep looking.
Updated Review. After 3 years of ownership. I buried this coffee mill away after having mixed feelings of its application for camping/backpacking. I broke this out for a vacation this holiday season to see if I could make this work paired with my travel pour over (Ortlieb coffee filter). I finally came to the realization that the grind size could be adjusted (by turning the knob on the bottom) and found this grinder really finding a place in my packing list. On my trip I found myself looking for free hot water at public spots and brewing coffee then and there. My only real complaints now is that the hopper can only really fit grounds for one cup and the cap for the winding mechanism can be easily lost. I still have mixed feelings about this grinder, durability concerns mainly, however it has found a place back in my bag(s) for backpacking/bikepacking/travel.The pros-Compact (coffee setup fits in a gallon ziplock)-provides a fine to course ground size-the finer the grind the longer it takes to grind (with a med/large grind size it takes ~4-5min)The cons-relatively heavy at 10oz/.66 lb/.28kg-Its reasonably priced-The exposed sealed bearing on the top, it should be capped, to prevent me from spilling beans and make the product easier to keep clean. Also i've had the bearing pull out when wrenching on the grinder (its a press fit and could use some super glue)-Has a flimsy handle with a cap that is easily lost-Although compact, I wish it would nest in something like an areopress. As a backpacker, I normally pre-grind my coffee for the trip and I will probably keep doing this for most trips to save time in the morning. As a traveler/camper this is the perfect piece of gear when you are traveling solo and want to make a cup of coffee for yourself. For couples/families you may look some where else for more capacity or you'll have to make a game out of passing the grinder around the camp fire.

AHHHMAZING
Um... Can I just simply say "Lifesaver"? because thats what this is. I've been using a Red Rooster Trading Co Camano coffee mill, which I must say has been worthless. It doesn't hold a very steady grind, the shaft wobbles and causes the consistency to get even worse the more you use it not to mention it weights probably 10 times what this gem of a grinder does.Enough about that (don't buy it!)I've been in love with GSI products since buying their Dualist cook set, so when I found out they made a coffee grinder I was elated. I made my purchase literally the day I found out that this product was available, hoping to use it on a climbing trip I had planned, unfortunately it showed up the day after I left (still a day before the expected delivery date) very well packaged.Immediately I had to inspect it. I'm a mechanic by trade so I'm pretty into how things work, this is one finely crafted device, a large sealed bearing on top keeps the shaft movement steady. It has a "guide" of sorts midway between this bearing and the ceramic burr. The only improvement I could ask for would be to insert a bearing or bushing in this location to really stabilize the shaft, but still this thing is solid. Everything fits together perfectly, the pieces that are meant to be removed regularly are snug friction fits with ribs so that it doesn't get stuck together. (brilliant guys.. brilliant.)I put a couple handfuls of beans through first to kind of break it in, then gave it some more thorough checks. It held about 23 grams of my favorite beans which are a light roast from a local roasterie. Gave me an amazingly consistent press grind. I then cranked it down as tight as it would go to see how well it would do for an espresso grind. SHOCKING. Beautiful. I can't believe how well this thing functions. So excited to take it backpacking as soon as I can.

Best-in-class compactness, a bit tough to use ergonomically (which is understandable)
Very portable, and grinds well. The most compact option I know of.I'd consider giving it 5 stars, but I can't give 5 stars to something that makes my wrists hurt after grinding 2 shots worth. To be fair, they sacrificed a lot to make it fit in such a small form factor, but I wish they would put in 1 or 2 silicone dampers or something to absorb the vibrations coming from the grinding process.Yes, I realize I'm being a bit of a wimp here, but I have other grinders and they all work fine without causing pain, so just saying there's room for improvement. If you don't have wrists of glass like I do, this is probably a non-issue.The grind adjuster has set indentations, which makes it easier to adjust your grind. Sure, it's not infinitely adjustable, but it's convenient to be able to remember the number of clicks you need to adjust from one grind to another. The bottom cup that holds the grinds does not lock, which is a shame -- if it did, I could pre-grind, and use that bottom cup to store my next cup's worth of coffee.Like a good grinder, it does take some work, and you'll be cranking away for a few minutes before your beans are ready. Overall, a very good grinder

Great quality and value
Bought this for my decaf coffee beans at home, in hotels, hostels, camping etc. So far it's been just the job. The only down side is it doesn't fit into the Aeropress. It fits into the bit the coffee goes into if you leave the Aeropress plunger out ... so that's a lightweight camping option I will try ... so problem solved! Often at home I'll put the water into the Aeropress and let it drip through anyway. This is an excellent purchase, grinds easily, handle stores cleverly and I can't think of any down sides so far. I'm using most days for single cup of coffee.

... after much reviewing I went for this and so glad I did
Almost spent double on a Porlex but after much reviewing I went for this and so glad I did. Nice looking, tough plastic, good ceramic burrs, good amount of adjustment for grind. Can get very coarse to super fine grinds. What more do you need?

nice grinder
Really happy with the product. Fits in 8 cup french press. Very easy to use and feels sturdy. Adjustable and works with spices. The top and bottom just pop in so it may have been better if they screwed in and I would have liked a cap for the pot the grounds go in to but overall quite impressive.

Good grind & lightweight, but will it stand up to it for a long life?
Pleased with the grind I can achieve but not convinced itโll stand up to the forces required to grind for a really long time. Overall though happy and itโs light which is important vs the heavier grinders that arenโt designed for the outdoors. So does exactly what it needs to do.
