Great product! I just start to learn how to use the pyrography and this tool is amazing!! I can do many diferentes draws.,heat settings between 200/450℃. Very easy to use, light shades use lower temp and darker shades use higher. The product is very easy to use and also there are many tutorials in YouTube to learn more about it.Very happy with my new product

Cheap soldering iron that's useless for pyrography
We bought this for a first attempt at writing on wood so we could make personalised presents for family. It's pretty much a standard cheap soldering iron with a set of tips, some of which can be used for burning into wood. It has instructions if you've never used one before but it's easy enough to work out. There isn't much clue to which are supposed to be for wood and which for soldering if you've never seen a soldering iron before (luckily I could tell my partner which she needed). When we tried it I'm afraid it really didn't work well. As it's a soldering iron and not a specific pyrography pen the tip is way too long even for my big hands, and my partner had no chance. Because you have to hold the handle so far away from the tip of the pen attachments your hand just wobbles and you can't get neat writing. We also found that the same tips were inconsistent, sometimes giving a thin line and sometimes a much fatter line. It has a thermostat and we tried different temperatures, the only noticeable difference was that if you turn it up to 400 degrees+ the handle gets too hot and you can't hold the rubber finger pad without using extra padding or gloves.Overall very disappointing, it's a cheap soldering iron and nothing else. If you want a pyrography pen for neat wood work then pay the extra and get a proper one.

Great piece of kit.
I bought this set mainly for the ability to do the pyrography.I've started doing more woodwork at home and have taken an interest in building bird houses and moth/butterfly shelters too.I thought that this would be a nice addition to my designs. It took a little bit of practice to get it right but I'm getting better all the time. There are plenty of attachments and also stamps too to help along the way.The set comes well protected in a nice case with elasticated straps to hold everything in place.Highly recommended. I'm sure it'll come in handy for the ability to solder too! Guess I'll have to start adding circuits to my designs!!!

Good for a beginner
I bought this for Christmas for my daughter. She is quite creative and loves making things for presents for friends and family. She has never done pyrography before so this is a new challenge and she loves it. With virtually no instruction, she was able to get started straight away and ‘drew’ some lovely designs on a wooden spoon for her 1 year old son. (Wooden spoons are his latest favourite toy.!) 😣The set is packaged in a small case, no bigger than a pencil case, so it is is highly portable and very convenient. She is going to have so much fun decorating wooden napkin rings, candle sticks, photo frames, heart and star shaped wooden gift tags, egg cups..... you get the picture.......the list is endless! I highly recommend this product.

Impressive wood burner
Good value tool with bargain prices.works well on a variety of woods. The brass nips warp on the high heat after a while of use, but not so much that they're unusable. Really like the little stamps and texture nibs. I would definitely recommend this if you want to try out wood burning, but I'm not sure how it'd fare with heavy prolonged use. I bought it to make this sign for our house, it turned out just how I wanted it to. Overall, very happy with it.

Hit a snag.
Having had one of another make this made a change. It helps if you know what you are doing as regards to changing pieces. The sleeves are different and you could get muddled as the instruction leaflet appears to be in "pigeon" English. Everything is in a neat case but you must let it cool down before repacking. The sleeves do work loose with the temperature change so a pair of grips handy is a good idea to re tighten while still hot. Suggest use for ten or fifteen minutes at a time then let cool down. Good selection of bits to choose from. Length of sleeve makes fine control difficult on some surfaces but practice makes perfect. For the money it is a good starter tool but for fine work a more precise burner is recommended. Unfortunately on the fourth time of using the black plastic collar shattered and fell apart. I have returned item and will be looking for an alternative more robust item. Returning the item was easy with Amazon and a refund made without fuss.

Good
Excellent product, great for crafting. Very powerful small iron, very fast heating. Easy to use, works well on a variety of woods. Great set with a handy travel case. It has loads of accessories, and different tips. This thing is great! I didn't expect it to be as good as it is or to have as much extras with It! The variable temperature actually works and there's no play in any if the tips when it heats up and cools down which my soldering iron has an issue with but this tool solves that problem because it's also a soldering iron and it has various soldering tips all of which work perfect with all the different types of solder which I have and it does so very well. The burning tips are good and there's plenty of range with them and they all work well on pine, ash, oak and plywood. I haven't tried it out on other items but I have no doubt that it will work well on leather etc.You will not be disappointed with this.,

Ok for beginners
If you like me are a complete beginner then this kit seems to suit the purpose.I'm sure the temperature setting will come pretty handy when will choose some wood that contain more resin as it burn different or if decide to draw something in leather.Excellent good quality product, superb for the priceThe handle gets slightly hot if you are using it for an extended period at the highest heat settings.
