Cheap and bad customer service
Terrible customer service. 6 months to get the additional battery. Missing parts and cheap.

Reliable - Strong Frame - Ease of Shifting - Powerful 750W - BEE COOL!
Purchased bike blk Friday 11/22 - VT weather - couldn't ride till May 2023. So impressed with handling - really liked dual suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and ease of adjusting bike pedal speed to pedal assist. Going up a tough hill in gear #1 and pedal assist in #5 was Amazing. However, 100 yards to go & legs tired I used the Throttle switch to get over the top. Born in 1944 this bike exceeded my expectations. I purchased it to ride back country roads, both paved and dirt here in Vermont. Highly recommend.

Great bike for the price point, very good communication and service
I purchased my Explorer in Sept. of 2023. There was some damage from shipping, but BeeCool's customer service was responsive and they always promptly replied to my emails. After providing video and picture evidence of the damage, they shipped me a new motor to replace the one where the power line had been damaged, as well as a derailleur guard that broke. They've been helpful with questions I've had along the way as I've had other relatively minor issues, and they have responded with links to instructions or how-to videos and sent replacement parts whenever needed. The bike itself is not top end, and most components are not high end by any means, but they do the job and it has stood up to many miles and some very rough trails and conditions. I had brake squealing issues since I got the bike, and could not seem to solve it, but recently upgraded to their two piece brake rotors and upgraded brake pads from their site and thankfully, they barely make a sound now. What a relief!I've had a few issues with bolts loosening and in the case of the bolts holding the rear rotor, falling out completely. But they shipped me new bolts and I put Loctite threadlocker on them all so it shouldn't be an issue again. Good practice to go over the bike and re-tighten all bolts occasionally and add some Loctite when possible.I upgraded the seat to one with spring suspension and installed a 7” stem riser which greatly improved my riding position. (I'm in my mid 60's and can't ride leaned forward comfortably anymore.)After some initial adjustment, the derailleur and shifter has worked flawlessly. The Suspension again, is not high end. Front suspension is just basic springs, and takes some of the vibration out of the handlebars, and rear is a cheap shock, that doesn’t function that well, but it’s enough to take out the bigger jolts and smooth out the ride a bit. The suspension is adequate unless you plan to use this for single track mountain biking, which I wouldn't recommend to begin with, due to its weight. For better performance, upgrading the rear shock would be an easy install. For trail and moderate off road use, it's perfectly fine. (I'm about 220#s and between the spring mounted saddle, the front and rear suspension, as well as the ballon tires that I keep at 20 psi, it's a comfortable ride.)There is a learning curve once you get this bike, both due to its weight and handling, as well as getting used to a powered bike, how to trigger the power assist with either pedals or throttle, and how to cut it off with brakes. It was a bit sketchy for a while, but you eventually get things dialed in. I'm fully comfortable with it and can handle it easily. When I purchased this bike they included a trailer and a spare half capacity battery for a couple hundred extra dollars. Here they dropped the ball I'm afraid, as it was only after I enquired a couple months later that they finally shipped the trailer. The battery was said to be on back order, but it did not arrive until a few months after the expected ship date, 5 months after I'd bought the bike. Unfortunately, it had been damaged in shipping. There was only one layer of cardboard closely fitted around the battery and it had been impacted to the point where something internal had been jarred loose and it would not power the bike. But here their customer service stepped up again. Upon notifying them and sending pictures and a video, they promptly sent me another one which arrived in about a week. All good.I've used the trailer a couple of times for grocery runs. The metal plate floor of the trailer makes a lot of racket when empty, but with any weight in the trailer it goes away. The trailer again, isn't high end or heavy duty, but it pulls smoothly and is very functional and comes with a liner and a handy cover you can use. There is not a lot of real estate on the handlebar for adding many accessories, so I ended up purchasing the longest auxiliary bar I could find (11") and mounted above the bar. But now my rear-view mirror extends out far enough to the left that I can clearly see without my shoulder in the way. I also mounted my phone holder there and everything works well.In short, this is a very good eBike for the price point. The battery has a lot of capacity, and the motor has good torque. I find I can cruise around 30 mph on a full charge on level smooth surfaces. it handles any kind of terrain (within reason).Finding the range vs power level is a learning curve as well. You do not want to be caught far from home with a dead battery. At 82 lbs, it is a beast to pedal, even in low gear, and it takes a lot of strength. Initially, I would always ride in the 5th or highest battery assist level and ride at top speed. I found I could comfortably get about 27 miles range, but I didn't want to push it much further. That was the limit. However, after riding with a friend on a conventional bike and going much slower, about 10 mph, with power level 2 most of the time and just bumping the power with the throttle and coasting, I found that the range nearly doubled. That's a bit slow for my normal riding, so I've settled on using power level 3 about 90% of the time and find I can depend on around 35 to 40 miles, though I try not to push it.Pay attention to the stand over height. I ordered the Explorer for its lower top tube, but even with that, it’s a bit of a trick to get on. I have a bike bag on the rack which prevents me from swinging my leg over the back to get on, so have to step over the top tube, and that’s a bit dicey at times and easy to lose balance. Also note that the kickstand is adjustable. I did not know this and it’s not in manual or any info online. Installed as it arrived, the kickstand would have the bike leaning nearly upright, just barely enough to be stable. This was a hassle as I’d always have to be careful to park it on a surface sloping in the direction of the kick stand or it would be standing nearly straight up and unstable. It wasn’t until the kick stand broke and BeeCool sent me a new one that I discovered that there is a screw on it that allows you to adjust the height and thus the angle the bike leans. My particular bike is white. After only a bit of riding, I noticed that there were several spots where the cables rubbed against the frame and were leaving marks. I bought white electrical tape and covered the areas that were being rubbed with a couple layers and that has done the job protecting the paint. I also covered a square hole in the frame just behind the front wheel where splatter is kicked up to prevent water and muck from accumulating in the frame. And I fashioned a splash guard cut out of a gallon milk jug and added it between the top of the rear fender and the bottom bracket which shields the control unit from being splattered with water and debris. Doesn’t look pretty, but does the job.To sum up, this is a good bike for the price point, in my opinion. It doesn’t have the best components by any means, but they’re functional, and if you have an issue, BeeCool customer service is both responsive and they have done what it takes to make things right. It might take a few email exchanges, but I’ve been well satisfied.I’ve had some issues, but BeeCool Customer service has come through and made things right. I really enjoy riding the bike and look forward to many more miles to come.
