Very solid feeling extension - much heavier than I expected. Not sure how long it is but there is a second tube welded inside the main tube at the hitch end to provide additional strength - this will make it a bit more difficult to cut off the excess when using it for the shorter length or with some spare tires. On GM trucks I have found that the spare tire does not allow the extension holes to line up with the hitch so it is necessary to either remove the spare or cut down the extension no matter which length you plan on using (this was also the case with another brand I used for a shorter extension). At this time I'm still experimenting with length so I've removed the spare before having the tube cut for my application but it does seem to be working well.

The packaging left something to be desired (there was none). So other than being a little beat up, this has worked out great. I use this behind my cab-over camper to pull a car trailer.

Works as desired
I use this because I have a truck camper that hangs past the bumper and need to tow either a 1200lb utility trailer or a 2000lb sailboat. It works as I had hoped. It is a very stout and heavy piece of metal. Sliding one end into the receiver takes some jiggling around because it is a very tight fit. That can be difficult given the weight. Help may be required if you struggle with bulky and heavier weight. It is unclear to me if I need turnbuckles to prevent lateral bending. I don't use them but I have seen people on youtube videos hooking them up. I cannot find information from the manufacturer about this. The specs say that tongue and total trailer towing weight can be increased with the addition of a weight distribution hitch but no advice or recommendations are given as to specific brands or types. Better product info would be helpful.

Have purchased 2 of these, and both are defective from the factory.
I initially purchased one of these from an RV dealership in Ohio. The holes were drilled below center so the pin wouldn't fit. I couldn't believe it. The spot where you mount the wiring was also chipped and bent from where it bounced around in the poorly packaged box. Since I was headed out on a trip and needed a guaranteed 2-day delivery, and needed this to pull my trailer I decided to hit up Amazon and purchase the identical product. Product was received before schedule (thank you Amazon local warehouse), but the product was also defective. I absolutely couldn't believe this happened again. One of the holes was not drilled at all. The other hole was jagged like the CNC process failed in the middle of manufacturing. This hitch had the same damaged mount for the wiring because it was sent in an identically poorly matched box for the weight of the product. This hitch was actually somewhat hanging out of the box when it was received as it ripped through. Terrible terrible. Since I was desperate, I just drilled out my original hitch manually with a hole saw so I could make my trip across country. I then returned the Amazon one for a refund, which was taken care of promptly. I hope Amazon can use some of their weight to get Reese to get their act together. Two different hitches purchased from two different locations across the country.... both defective from the manufacturer.

Hope you have a hammer and paint
April 2021 Hitch pin won't align. Tried a bigger hammer. Hit it with my purse. Will need to open receiver pin hole with a drill. Saw other reviews with this same issue. Figured they were old and surely Reese fixed any issues they had from years ago... nope.Pigtail bracket was bent and paint chipped off. More hammer time and some paint.Other than than that it's built well and solid.

It works but only when it upside down in my class 5 receiver. The pin doesn't line up when it's in the right side up position. Also the plastic silver end was broken when I opened the package. It's cheap and won't survive the 75 pound weight if it gets stood up on it. The only purpose seems to be to have a place to put the Reese name. Maybe it's appropriate to have the Reese name displayed upside down on a broken piece of plastic. If you need this to work for a 41 inch length as I did, you'll have to cut off a few inches or remove your spare tire. It doesn't clear the tire using the 41 inch pin hole. I kept it flaws and all. It works from a functional standpoint.

Works great!
Now this is one heavy duty extension that is a must when hauling an extended camper and towing a trailer. This 2.5" receiver is larger than the standard 2" that comes with most pickup trucks and SUV's.

Very well built, I cut it down to the 41" length to tick it in closer to the bumper and to give me a little more clearance getting in and out of the driveway.
